Hey guys, I recently purchased a used MGW race spec compact with standard throw. After it arrived, I noticed what appears to be some slop in the resting position. It does not always spring back to dead center after pulling towards 6th gear, it can sit as far as 1ish inch towards 6th. Is this normal? Will it affect the feel of the shifter once installed? My stock shifter has far less play, maybe 1/4 inch. Pictures are below and if the seller reads this, don't worry. I don't blame you at all for this one, it's easy to miss.

when you actually attach the shifter to your car this will be a TOTAL non issue.

We always ( and most other shifter companies do as well ) make the 1-2 spring a little stronger than the 5-6 spring. It amplifies the return springs that are already internal to the trans. When you install it , it will have no slop as you call it and spring back perfectly.
