I'm wondering why folks are moving on so quickly, is there underlying issue with the Mustang? After a text drive I so want one, but, with a possible house move within the next year. Swapping cars will need to wait and I would say it will be a "keeper" I'm on the wrong side of 60 and her in doors is getting a bit cheesed off with me changing cars every few years.
I will get there it's just a matter of time.
Sadly I am one of those people who when they get what they want they then lose interest and go looking for another buzz, bit of a pisser as it is an expensive habit:frusty:

As above, I get bored quickly. Also bored of driving. Not finding any enjoyment driving on our roads anymore.
I’m attempting 2 wheels next

I've pissed the wife off wanting the 18.I said this would be my last car as i approach 60 and that was 2 years ago with the 15.I could never get bored with the mustang, the new one has got the drl's in the right place and bonnet vents and the choice of a rear spoiler. The other goodies all add up to a better mustang so come on Ford keep the mustang affordable.

I know you are looking at a Harley Davidson.I got into those in the late 80's with the newly released Evo engine.Loved it for a few months .I noticed that every other non HD motorbike owner completely ignored you though ,no waving ,no thumbs up etc,and it transpired that HD were seriously frowned upon by other bikers!(some of the bank manager weekend warriors probably deserved it:lol:)

I ended up with a 1977 modified Texas Shovelhead engined bike and loved it ,kept it 8 years ?:clap2:,never leave home without a spanner though....Strangely this bike was slightly more accepted by other bikers:shrug:

The sportster always used to be the smaller entry level HD so the other HD model owners probably think it is not
'Hells Angel' enough for them

EDIT:
I have just had a look at the latest HD offerings and the Sportster range looks pretty interesting .Never had any of that choice in my day, there was 1x883 in the sportster range and that was it.My back can no longer handle 2 wheels sadly.

Its a good car don't get me wrong, but engine aside a BMW M2 shits all over it unfortunately in the driving, dynamics and handling category, also feels a lot quicker too, though not much difference in performance and as you can get big discounts on an M2 there is not a whole lot of price difference. Or by the time you've done the mods required to bring the Mustang upto scratch you've saved no money over something like an M2.

The Mustang needs work, look at the owners here most of them have modified the car in someway, suspension, power, exhaust, styling etc.

As such buyers of the Mustang really have to be Mustang fans or people who always wanted one and are either willing to over look its weaknesses or are happy to modify to resolve them.

One thing the Mustang guarantees is every time you start it you smile, every time you park it and walk away your always looking back it and it is this the Mustang has in leaps and bounds over other cars, it makes you happy and you feel great.

Of course MY18 is coming so some are selling for that reason and of course people like to try other things, also we have no idea what the market bottom is, this time next year these cars might be selling for 20k, which would be hard to swallow but could happen so for many who paid 35k, grabbing 30k now is a good move before the real and big depreciation maybe sets in.

Mine can depreciate all it likes, it changes nothing for me. Waited 40 years for a Mustang. A bonus that it came out in RHD. Always wanted a Mustang, always wanted a V8, always wanted a convertible and never had my own (as opposed to company cars) new car.

There might seem to be a glut now but production is now finished for the first RHD Mustangs. People are still waking up to them. Some are moving on after ‘ticking the box’ but plenty will stick with it and demand will normalise.

The unknown is whether Ford will balls up the pricing of the MY18.

The trouble with getting an M2 instead of the Mustang, is that someone you know might see you driving the M2:doh::doh:

Really not something I get, seems to come from the people who says Porsches are junk or bad image too. Generally coming from un-educated people with no idea, so surprised to see you saying it because to be frank the M2 is a return to more of BMW of old, a great car built around its chassis that fights well above its weight and they look pretty stunning to be honest. If I did not have the M3 I'd probably find myself buying an M2 in all honesty, BMW just got it so right and if an M2 CS comes as rumoured that could be a huge amount of fun which is what driving is about, FUN.

Maybe its because I am not a die hard fan of one brand, I like all cars for what they have to offer so am not blindly loyal to one brand and I also think people who shun other brands because they maybe hogged a motorway lane once or failed to indicate is really very lame and sad excuse. Buy a car because you want it, because you enjoy and because it makes you grin. What other people think should never effect your choice in vehicle.

I sold a Porsche to buy a Mustang, the amount of people who judged, did I give a flying shit, nope not at all, I wanted a Mustang so I got one and I do not regret it, but is the Mustang better than a Porsche, absolutely not, but it is different and right now its a different I like. :)

My current weekend runabout is a GT86, which is great fun and on a twisty B road your going to need a seriously quick car to keep up , like a Caterham.

I like to be in something different and I think the Mustang has all the bases covered. that's easy to get in and out of , comfortable, sounds good, looks great and also RWD.

Going the German route is out as far as I'm concerned, go along to any car meet on a Sunday, you'll be tripping over just about the full range from Porsche & BMW. The classic car route I've been down. Rose tinted spectacles don't work.
So new or nearly new with a warranty......as mentioned, things on hold till we get the house move sorted.

Depends what Porsche, the Mustang is better than a new 4 cylinder Boxster imo. And compared to an Audi TT, now that's an embarrassing car to be seen in.

I agree though, for me it was a toss up between an M2 and a Mustang. Someone on my road has an M2, the Mustang just feels/looks more unique and special than yet another BMW.

Bottom line for me, is that I don't really care how good BMW, Audi, Porsche, Merc etc are, I couldn't support the German car industry. With their overpriced, badge engineered Veblen goods...:)

Veblen = Goods for which demand increases as the price increases, because of its exclusive nature and appeal as a status symbol.
