I put a few songs on a thumb drive today and played it through the stereo. It works, but the audio will drop out for a second randomly in each song I played once or twice.

Anyone know of this issue?

Tried deleting files and installing music on thumb drive. Still randomly losing music for about a second. Also it won't play Apple lossless files...

Any idea?

FWIW, my '16 Sync 3 system does play FLAC files, but I doubt - due to licensing concerns - it will ever be able to play ALAC directly (maybe via Car Play if/when that's implemented).

Assuming your music files aren't corrupted (that you can play them from another source without any issues), it sounds like some kind of stream interruption, almost like a momentary buffer issue. I'd make sure your firmware is updated, maybe do a master reset (see online sources for "how to").

Thanks for your idea. I will look into the firmware. I agree it is like its a buffer issue. Just odd...

Not sure if the base has the USB ports in front of the shifter and in the center console, but if it does, try moving the thumb drive to whichever port you're not using currently and see if it still has the problem...

I will try that as well! Base Sync does have a USB port in front of the shifter and the center console. I have the new update to install so I will do that later today.
