Anyone know the ohms of the factory base speakers? The other thread is all cluttered up with all the audio options I thought I'd try and make one for the base setup.

Looking to replace the speakers front and back. I know there are tweeters up in the a pillars so was wondering if components would replace the factory door/a pillar and what ohms etc would work depending how the factory stuff is setup. Are the rears full range ? Also trying to figure out if I should use a front door speaker for input for an amplified subwoofer I plan to add or if I can just use a rear speaker.

Thx !

Ha I've been looking around for the same information. I believe the base system has 6 1/2 for the front and rear. I looking to buy front and rear and add a line out converter. I have 2 JL w3's and a amp sitting around the garage. Figure I should use them. I never used a converter before. Sounds easy to install. I'm trying to do this in 3 weeks when I'm off for Christmas time.

I'm still hoping for an aftermarket sub enclosure to house a 10" that fits and not take up a lot of room. The last generation has this.

I ordered the p300-12. Already have a ton of quality wire laying around just need a fuse holder and will see how it works out. I'll make a thread with tons of pics of the install when I get it.

JL has their stealthbox and it holds a 12", fits in the factory sub spot.

While I only got to play with it for a day before my car had to go in I was/am very happy with it.

The base model has 6.5 speakers @ 4ohms in the doors and rear deck.

JBL speakers come with adapters that not only fit, but will use the exact same screw holes as the factory speakers. Don't want to buy JBL's, but want adapters?

Here you go http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_4968_Scosche-SAC656.html

They worked perfectly with the pioneers I used.

I'd really like to upgrade the head unit and speakers, but I would like to retain the steering wheel buttons and bluetooth. I do not use voice control at all, but every once in a while if I have to take a call and I'm on an empty highway I'll use the phone buttons in the steering wheel.

Are there any options yet for replacing the head unit and keeping BT, backup camera, etc.?
