I was hoping to get some feedback as to wether upgraded 1/2 shafts are a "must" an an auto. I am trading in for an auto and stripping my parts off my current car and curious if I'll need to put the FFRP shafts on my new car. Yes, I will be putting my Whipple on the new car.

What's the ratio to people that have and have not and for the people that have not, has there been any axle breakage?

I don't track or drag the car, just spirited road driving.

Thanks,

Jaime

I haven't replaced my half shafts and so far no breakage. That's with lots of spirited driving and 1 hpde so far. 13,600 miles so far. Also not at your power levels.

Save your money. Shafts are a problem, but unless you add a ton of HP, chances are slim that they will break. GForce in Kansas makers the Ford Performance ones and I have them my Vette and they are beefy, but I have ni plans to get them for the Mustang.

Thats the thing, the car is Whipple charged with roughly 700 rwhp. I have Ford Racing axles coming off my manual car but I just noticed this today and don't want any more issues on the new car

These are rebuilt by @GForce just a few months ago so they are now the new generation axles. You can see they are rubbing the shocks and have taken a bite out of the dust boots.

Sorry, I still don't think I would do it. Your not pounding the car, you diving it with spirit.

Interesting The GForce Corvette axles fit the same way, very close to other parts.......

Ever notice how GForce talk HP but not Torque. Torque is what breaks them!

z06psi told me to cut 2''-3'' off the shock dust cover nearest the halfshaft boot for such an instance. I have not seen anyone else do this, but I'm glad I did.

I was hoping aftermarket shocks would not be touching the halfshaft boot. I barely have a hair of clearance on the stock shocks.
