Upcoming Android auto update

Just saw an article on a new update on Android auto later this year which can integrate with the car's computer as well, being able to read mileage etc. I wonder if it will be able to sync with our digital dash and display Google maps/ Waze navigation in some form on them. Article below:

Maybe on new versions, but I doubt it will on our Sync3 Bullitts. Could be wrong, but since I don't use any of that, don't really care .

I find AA super convenient, from music to navigation its very helpful along with the voice commands. I never need to touch my phone. I am however fairly new to where I live and require gps to get around
