I would like to thank Jarstang for permitting me to post this information here.

On Monday, March 12, if the order banks are open as expected, I am going to order a 2019 Bullitt Mustang in dark highland green, adding to my collection of the previous generation versions - a black 2001 and highland green metallic 2009. I am expecting to trade my beloved '15 Mustang GT for the new S550 Bullitt.

I was privileged to have attended the Jan 14 Ford media event in Detroit, where the '19 and '68 hero movie car were shown together. I was there for the express purpose of including some information about the new Bullitt Mustang in a forthcoming book. The new edition was not only spurred on by the movie car, but also by the 2001 Bullitt.

I bought my 2001 Bullitt in 2008. I had a 2003 azure blue manual Mach 1 from 2002 until 2010. Over the years, I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Scott Hoag, who some of you know was the former Ford engineer who led the SN-95 Bullitt and Mach 1 development programs. Over the years at enthusiast events, I got to hear him talk about the stories of how these cars came to be. Back in 2007, I had pitched the idea of documenting his memories in book form. I also wanted to see all the cool photographs that showed behind-the-scenes work on the cars in print. He agreed, and I collected over 10 hours of recordings of his experiences at Ford working on the Bullitt and Mach 1 Mustangs.

Fast forward to this year, and I am happy to announce that the book will soon be a reality. On June 1 and 2, 2018, at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, Scott and I will have a booth where this Ford Motor Company licensed publication titled "Engineer + Enthusiast = Excitement, Building the 2001 Bullitt and 2003/04 Mach 1 Mustangs" will be available for purchase. We are expecting to be out on the show field near the Bullitt and Mach 1 sections.

If it were not for the connections I made through IMBOC and the Mach 1 Registry, this book likely would have never been done. If it were not for the connections here on Mustang6g.com, I would not have been able to plan for the inclusion of Scott's commentary on the '19 Bullitt.

Scott has often commented to me that the 2001 Bullitt and 2003/04 Mach 1 Mustangs were produced with content for the enthusiast. That's really the spirit in which he detailed his engineering experiences. Interestingly enough, the 2019 Bullitt was introduced on his birthday; a cosmic co-incidence that one of the lead people working on the 2001 model gets to see a third edition of a car that was part of the "Bullitt" movie lineage, along with one of the movie cars that started the whole thing!

I invite you to look at www.bullittmach1editions.com for more information. If you have interest, please sign up for the mailing list as periodic updates will be sent out over the coming months leading up to the launch of the book.

You can also pre-order a copy of the book. There are 2 editions available - the standard and the collector's. The collector's edition will be 1 of 300 copies signed by Scott and includes a certificate of authenticity along with an "Easter egg" that is only available to purchasers of that version.

I thank you in advance for your interest. As a preview, here are a few of the photos I took on Jan 14 and a page with some of the '19 Bullitt content.

This year's National Mustang Day is special to me. I have one of the first copies of this book being sent to the US Copyright Office today. I am grateful for this opportunity to have worked on it and look forward to the general sales starting in June.

I am also pleased that some commentary on the '19 Bullitt is in the book.
