When my 2020 Bullitt starts with the USB cable from the center console connected, Android auto starts every time. However sometimes Within a half minute or sometimes more it disconnects. The only way to reconnect is to remove the USB cable from the phone and reconnect it. However the disconnect keeps reoccurring. This has been happening the past week. I've tried two different cables. I must note the phone, a Samsung Fold 5 works perfectly in my Toyota Highlander. Is anyone else having this issue?

Are the cables you're using new? When I've had issues with it in the past, I've just needed to swap out the cable for a new one again. I have pretty good luck with Anker ones for longer than others.

Get an other cable and clean the usb jack of your phone.

Think about sourcing an AAwireless dongle.

As mentioned, 2 cables were tried. Yesterday, tried a new one in Bullitt and it disconnected within 1/2 mile. Put same cable in 2023 Highlander and drove around rest of day without a disconnect. This indicates the problem is not with phone or cable. Next step, Uninstall Android Auto and reinstall.

As in response just before this, all cables and phone work reliably in other car. Other car, 2023 Highlander, actually works wielessly with Waze and Amazon music without a cable. Only use cable to keep phone charged. Don’t recall if Bullitt works wirelessly. Anyone know?

2 cables were tried doesn't mean they were brand new, they deteriorate in cars and need to be replaced over time if you want it to work for Android Auto and not just charging. If it's working in another car, it could still just be a cable issue honestly - not sure if Ford's implementation is just more sensitive than Toyota's in this case.

The Mustang doesn't support wireless Android Auto natively, but the AAWireless dongle that was mentioned is an accessory in the middle that should work but can have it's own issues sometimes too.

As mentioned, cables that worked fine in Highlander were used.

Tried connection wirelessly. You are correct about it not supported.

Solution:
Before driving Bullitt around today went through menus. At Bluetooth saw phone connected. Then noticed Show Devices. Turns out my old phone changed out 2 weeks ago was listed as well as the new one. Deleted old phone. Drove around for an hour. No disconnects.
