Hello; Watching news just now. Seems those with good credit are to have more cost and fees added to a mortgage and those with poor credit are get some sorts of breaks on the same sorts of fees.
Not clear what the catch phrase term is yet. Does not make sense to me at first hearing. Need more details. Is this some sort of take from those who have been careful and have good credit so as to give to those who have not been careful in their financial dealings?
Always thought there is a reason behind good or bad credit.
I know it is possible to remove incorrect negative items from your credit report if you jump thru enough hoops.

Anyone know if it works the other way? Can you add incorrect negative info in case you need to lower your score? Just thinking ahead.

Real estate expert shreds Biden rule punishing homebuyers with good credit: 'It's madness' (msn.com)

Hello; Some additional information. Folks with good credit scores will have to pay from $40 to $100 extra a month to subsidize folks with poor credit. I figure it will not be this simple but on a 30 year home loan $40 extra a month add up to $14,400. At $100 adds up to $36,000 extra.

So, you do without. Work hard to not miss payments. Do all the tough things to get that credit score up. The way it worked before is doing all that to improve a credit score paid off with better loan rates, maybe less fees and such. Guess things are to be turned upside down on May 1st.
Folks who did none of the credit building things will get a better deal than they would have before at someone else's expense.

Reminds of something. Oh yeah. Student loan forgiveness plans. Not actually forgiveness just transfers the debt over to folks who got no benefit from the loans. Many who never went to college.

Another take from some to give to others scheme.

How this is being allowed to fly is beyond me.
But then you have cali, with a paper in the halls of the power brokers that raise your utility rates over the standard rate going by your income, the more you make the more you'll pay , So even if you did the green thing solar and such and are basicly off the grid, you'll still get a bill because you are at x income level, isn't that just grand. First it'll be electric then on to n/g, and water, sewer. Good times.

Hello; I listen to the call in show Washington Journal some mornings. So often any more is the cry to tax the rich or tax the corporations. Also the "rich" do not pay enough or they should pay a fair share. Thing is any tax on a business winds up being passed onto the consumers or they go out of business. The rich will find a way to avoid taxes if it can be done, which often it can be.
As for what is enough, that one is interesting. The lion's share of personal taxes are paid by a small group of people as it is. Thing that contradicts this is at or close to 50% of folks pay no income taxes at all.

Thing is when money is needed, they look around to see where it exists. Then come up with some screwy plan to take extra just because you have been more successful. There used to be a sense of expected fair play across the country. Now something called equity has replaced equality in many cases. If you work hard or are clever enough to build something and make decent money, they will look around and say you have more than just enough so we will take some extra.
If they can get these some pay more just because they have a bit more to stick, expect more such schemes to come along.

Yup tax the businesses just = higher prices for the regular joe to cover it.
Rich not paying their fair share, people failed basic math.
Last time I checked 17 million is more than the ones that are crying's tax burden of 15000.00 or less.
But they have people fooled and use % instead of dollar amounts.
So if a well off persons tax burden is 17% and the brainwashed voters rate is 23%, they somehow think they are paying more when they pay 15k or less and the well off person pays millions. For the same rights to live here, but the cry from that group is "they don't pay their fair share".
I had this argument with a friend, it stopped when I asked her if 14 thousand dollars was more or less than 12 million dollars. THEN the light bulb went off in her head.

Hello; I forget how many pages thick the tax code is. Maybe 2500 pages or more. So many built in ways to work things out if you have a lot of money. Guess it pays off to pay the fees to tax consultants who know how to legally work the system. I do not know which tax write off the "tax the rich" want to do away with. Perhaps the charity donations write offs can be done away with?? How will charities like St, Jude Childrens Hospital fare if folks, not rich folks only, cannot write off the donations anymore?

Some of what rich folks do is invest money (called capitol) into large projects. Say the world needs something like lithium to, you know, save the planet. It can take hundreds of millions of dollars and several years to open a new lithium mine. Or build a system to extract rare minerals from sea water. Who besides the rich can risk losing their millions in the hope of maybe making back a profit years later. I happen to have known a fellow who risked everything during a coal boom decades ago. He wound up clerking at night in a 24 hour quick stop type gas station into his old age as he lost the bet. I could go on but will stop.

The state of Missouri named an interstate overpass in Wentzville for U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, who was killed in a suicide bombing at the Kabul airport during the American withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. Then, it sent his parents a $3,200 bill for the new signs. State lawmakers are considering legislation that would stop billing families of military members and first responders for whom roads and bridges are named. The Schmitz family was able to raise the funds to pay for the signs honoring him.

Hello; This is sad and troubling. Send the family a bill???

I attended the public memorial service for Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss. two years ago. He was from Gibbs about 40 miles away from my home. I am still upset over that whole incident. I think there are memorial tribute things done or planned for him. I hope the family does not get a bill. His father gave hundreds, perhaps thousands, of us, a touching eulogy at the service dedicated to his son.

Meet Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss, the soldier killed in the Kabul bombing (taskandpurpose.com)
