Nice, how's the shift feel in normal driving?

Mine shifts nice and firm at low speeds/part throttle, but not to the point of being annoying. I drive my car daily, and it's damn near perfect IMO.

BTW Torrie...I had some doofus in an early S197 Shelby GT mess with me Saturday morning when I was headed up US1 to Ga. It ended very badly for him :lol:. Cold air + killer tune = butthurt GT owner :lol::cheers:.

I can setup shift firmness however anyone wants hence the term custom tuning. I set the cars up like my own on the front end. Slightly firmer all around with it getting firmer the more pedal you add.

Tuner / Tunes Question

Torrie,

Thanks for sending me the updated tune (no top speed limit). I have a couple of questions related to the process of updating the SCT tuner and tune files..

When I plugged my tuner into the computer to add the new file, the tuner started updating itself. On the menu it said "Updating Tune Revision", which had me wondering if the SCT software was being updated (probably yes) and or if the tune files you sent me previously were being updated (?)..

Also, do you send out tune updates to customers as you learn more about the eco-boost, or is that something we have to ask for? You mentioned in an earlier post that you were waiting on an update to SCT software.. If/when that happens what is the process for getting that update pushed-out to your customers?

No that update is for preload only, it has nothing to do with my files.

If I come up with something that impacts everyone I will update people automatically but otherwise if you need a change just email me.

Correct, the only regions I am waiting to be added for sport plus and track are shift pressure and RPM adjustments. But I can do whatever I want in normal now.

Your tunes look prety interesting. I may want to switch from my current Cobb AP to the Unleashed tune. The Cobb is nice, but...

How many miles on your car? I woild only be looking for stage 1 right now. I have no hardware mods right now. I know I would have to uninstall my Cobb AP first though.

What do you need for custom tuning? Mods and the type of driving style? I see where some tunes are torque monsters and others arent. I understand the idea of less reliability with more powerful tunes, but can you base a tune off of desired hp/torque within current mods?

Step one prior to flashing the vehicle I’ll need the vehicle strategy read. You will do this in the vehicle info menu then read vehicle info. Write this information down and email it to me. [email protected]

Also send me the mod list, octane fuel used, and device serial number as well, its stamped onto the back of the programmer.

This menu allows you to read and clear
diagnostic trouble codes found in the vehicle
PCM. This menu also allows you to read the
vehicle’s strategy for custom tuning. If a
“check engine” light or “service engine soon”
light appears on your dash, you can check
and clear the codes, which should reset the
PCM and remove the lights.

Read Vehicle Info
To read the Vehicle Info for custom tuning or for tech support, select the Vehicle Info sub-menu. You will be prompted to turn the ignition key ON and the device
will automatically read the vehicle strategy. Make a note of the strategy once it
appears and keep for your records.

How do properly data log my vehicle with the file you sent me? And also I installed the tune and the car feels amazing. Hats off to you!!!

I data logged it after I updated my X4 today with the Ford 08 Newer is that correct?

Second I recorded the full length of that it allowed me. If I did it correct how do I get it off the SCT and send it to you?

The file you sent me along with the tune am I'm supposed to use this to data log and not the ford 08 and newer data the comes inside the X4? If so then how do I install it?

I'm still fairly new to all this and unsure please help. Thanks!
