Underwhelming Audio

Just picked up my 16 GT Premium yesterday. I have the 400A trim package with the voice activated Navigation unit, not the Shaker system.
The sound is underwhelming, it's just not what I expected. Any upgrade that can be done without replacing everything? Amp, speakers?

I had the same set up. Added a Rockford Fosgate 10 inch self powered sub. Now the system sounds good. It was 165 on Amazon. Did the install with some friends

In the controls I boosted the bass and treble and brought the midrange down a bit and things improved. Equipment upgrades would do much more though.

Get an exhaust. Best sound system imo! But do what Sandpiper did, it really helps on the low end. It's an easy and effective way to improve the sound

LOL, That just arrived yesterday. Went with the Corsa Extreme Cat-Back System.

Give the speakers time to break in. While not stellar, it does sound better after some time.

I added the JL Audio Stealthbox sub in the trunk and 600 watt sub amp under the seat. Not cheap but the sound difference is amazing! And it looks great too.

I'm pretty interested in the stealthbox... I've heard that just adding a sub to the 9 speaker system makes a huge difference.

Are you planning on changing any of the other speakers?

Also, what amp did you use and where did you mount it?

Not planning on upgrading the other speakers. For some reason they sound better since adding the Stealthbox! It is a huge difference! The Amp is a 600 watt JL Audio subwoofer amp (don't have the model number handy) and there was just enough clearance to mount it under the driver seat with a remote volume control mounted inside the center console. Total stealth!
