when i was looking the other day the only stipulation i found was that the plate must be reflective, didn't see anything about not being allowed to use vinyl stickersI haven't found anything on the dvla/gov websites that specifically says they're illegal.
As long as they're otherwise legal i.e. correct font & spacing, I doubt the police would bother pulling you. As I said, mine would only be a sticker on the front so it's not like they'd get a prolonged look at it anyway.
Just need to convince the bloody to let me take the car without them fitting plates! :frusty:
The Mustang I saw today had the front plate stuck on with velcro. What about dual lock velcro ?
That's what I used to use...........now just use sticky pads. Works fine on my S197, and that also has a slight curve/crease in the front bumper. What about dual lock velcro ?

Nah, you've not missed the point mate. But if you buy cheap tape expect to be re-fixing it in a months time in our winter. Best bet 3M VHB tape. And don't forget to clean the plates and surface. This is what I'll be doing if my Mustang gets here ( Dec \Jan).
Was thinking about that too... Why would you want too? You mean your going to sell your mustang? Kidding!I've used 'ebay' sticky pads before and they've been OK, but agree, they could have easily been useless.
I'm a bit scared of the VHB tape as I've heard (i.e. read on the internet) it's virtually permanent. Any experience in getting a plate off again?
