Those who have tracked their ships their car is on online, did yours also not get 'latest position' updates once it got into the atlantic? Mines not updated its position the last two days lol! (WWL TIJUCA if anyone wants to check)

That's the one that sunk beginning of the week isn't it?
Yeah think so. Think it sunk yesterday and that's why wwl says liner release. They released it to the depths of the ocean!

Because the AIS system that sites like vesselfinder use is terrestrial, once the ships go out of range (i.e. leave the coast) there is no access to live tracking, so you probably won't get an update until it hits the English channel.

If, however, you are desperate to know its whereabouts, there are some satellite AIS services available. They are expensive but I found a couple of sites that do a free trial. You have to sign up with a credit card then cancel after the trial if you don't want charged, so slightly risky incase you forget (the fees are a lot €100s a month!). So I didn't bother in the end. Just waited a few days, but I know how agonising it can be.

Ahh well:(.... Sales chap has just got back to me, best they can do is a week on Thursday......so no Easter Mustang for me:doh:
Last day of the month eh? Bet they're keen you collect then too. Tell them you can't do Thursday and see if they offer an earlier day ;)

Out of range? If you pay the ÂŁ175 monthly subs you'll get full updates!
For me, Tarago vanished just out of NY and didn't show up again til it was approaching the Channel.

I'm not agonising over it, i had a feeling that it was out of range, i just wanted someone to confirm it for me, which you have - so thanks Jord :)!

Should be in the range later today as it's expected to dock on the 24th in Zeebrugge, but i'm not obsessive enough to work out how long the distance is from New York to Zeebrugge port, and then calculate it's position based on the average speed etc...

@SteveS looks like the same as me then, tijuca has stopped just outside new York and no updates since. I will assume it's all healthy and business as usual in the channel.

On another note I hope not only for my selfish sakes but for the sakes of those on boats after me that the zeebrugge Port isn't SHUT after the terror attacks in BRUSSELS earlier today. Hopefully there's no panic and they dont close in and out bound transportation. Doubt they will especially for docks which are minimal for human life to be effected by suicide bombers, but never know!

It looses signal in the middle of the ocean. Give it a few days to get back into range.

It's sat next to the Titanic now, out of interest I wonder how close the boats come to passing over that spot. Stupid question I know but I've often thought of that.

Lol! Probably.

And probably very close judging by the looks of the image I have, they must go over it. The oceans deep enough so doesn't matter that it's there lol!

And yes from a quick Google they lose tracking as someone said before! Thanks guys

Try findship on pc or app. that seems to keep up with the boat as it crosses the atlantic
