UK GTD allocations

The Americans got their allocations. Anybody in the UK? They told me September when I applied.

I think 'shmee' has an allocation ? (Probably due to youtube presence / financial status etc etc)

Certainly very surprised that I just received notice that I was not granted an allocation. Given that I’m a SAAC member, I have two 1965 Shelby GT350’s (both judged by SAAC Gold Concours), a 2019 Shelby GT350, and a newish Ford Super Duty F350 pickup truck.

Guess allocations are not really based upon one’s involvement with Ford products, but simply on connections. Given that Ford’s President is an acknowledged car guy it seems he’s not involved with the GTD decision making. Guess I will be moving ahead on my other plan: a 2025/6 Corvette C8 ZR1 with at least 20% MORE horsepower, at essentially HALF the price of a GTD.

The application in the UK focused on two things. First, how involved are you in motorsports. Second, your social media presence. I have a YouTube channel, but do not race.

Surely it doesn’t focus on that. I got an allocation and I barely do either!

Honestly I put barely any effort into the application, as I really didn’t think I’d have a chance. The only other fords I’ve had is a couple of Mustang GTs, none of which were bought new.

I presumed I only got an allocation because not enough people had applied!

That's interesting. I put that I owned two Mach 1s, and several Ford Focus as my dailies. I showed them my YouTube channel featuring my Mach 1 with a few thousand subscribers, and also that I'm a participating member of a large UK Mustang club.
