I guess this puts to rest the mystery about the "applique". I don't think a machine could make that pattern. At least if you don't look too close you still think of it as diamond mesh machined. I used to work in a Tool & Die shop, you can get all kinds of patterns on sheets of stainless, but that design would have to be stamped I believe.

So presumably if you peeled off the applique you'd have the standard brushed aluminum dash? Or something else?
