So I finally finished my speaker replacement project and found/fixed issues that came up. Started to tune it and it seems that with heavy bass, the gril covers for the rear tweeters pop off. They just sit on top of the tweeter with a slight magnetic hold. Any ideas on how to make it more secure?

Glue or mold able sealant. I’ve used detail
clay in a pinch. Couple tiny pieces of it in the edges of the cover and it should compress down, hold the cover nicely and be removable.

Likely because the rear shelf is flapping up and down due to the increased bass and the trim ring cannot hold on. My rear shelf was smacking against the rear glass and made a horrible noise. Try tipping the rear seat forward 1" to create a gap for the bass pressure to enter the cabin. If that works, you have to find a way to let the bass into the car from the trunk unrestricted. A couple of ways to do this: use spacers and longer bolts on the rear seat latches to allow that 1" gap or punch out the holes in the rear deck panel.

I did the holes punch out in the rear deck plastic/carpet piece. Great idea on the 1" gap, I may have to look into that. I just bought some 2-sided 3M tape that's heavy duty. Hopefully I can trim a small piece to go around the edges and wedge the grill in place.

I added some 3M double-sided tape to the grill covers and so far, so good. A future project will be to add a bass port to the rear deck that should help with vibration and added bass to the front of the car. The subs are rear-firing so a lot of energy is wasted in the trunk...should have done front-firing.
