I thought the gen 2 voodoo (2019+) had all of those improvements (Same as GT500 block) and that the gen 1 voodoo (15-18) was essentially the gen 2 coyote block, with the coyote (2011-17) having iron sleeve/liners and the voodoo having pwta. I could be wrong but that’s what I remember.
No, Nastang's right. The Voodoo was a redesign and different casting from the start compared to the Coyote, hence the weight differences in the blocks compared to the Coyote. The GT500 block regained the same weight back when they then reinforced the casting for the boost.

No. But a common misconception because of the Gen 1 and 2 and when the Voodoo came out. The Voodoo's evolution of the Coyote was improved upon even further with the GT500 Predator block.

Not as different as you may think .

The Gen 3 voodoo has the same valley (with the cast in braces ) and longer 12 mm head bolts .

The deck surface is different with the Coyote being more open

Wait...come back? There's no "Gen 3 Voodoo." You mean Gen 3 'Yote? That 5.2L block obviously isn't going into any production Mustangs either with a VIN number. That's the same block used on the GT4 though I believe.

There are 2 revisions of the original voodoo block (bare )
The original one was sold by FP as M-6010-M52 .That used a shorter 12 mm head bolt The ford OEM version is GR3Z -6010-A-E .
That block has now been discontinued.

The second version is M6010-M52A or the “Gen 2 “ 5.2 block .https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6010-M52A
It has the upgraded deck surface with the braces /longer12 mm head bolts and is sold as OEM GR3Z-6010- F . I believe that’s what’s they use in the 18+ voodoo.it does not come with oil squirters but has provisions for them

The latest version is the 6010-M52B -
“Gen 3”.
https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6010-M52B
It’s the same as the block used in the predator/OEM is KR3Z-6010-A .It has has some changes as includes oil squirters and crank case is “clearanced for the bigger predator rods”
Gen 2/3 5.2 blocks share the same valley as the Gen 3 coyote with same cast in bracing and bosses for 6 knock sensors .

The M-6010-M52B(Gen 3) is also used in the latest 5.2 alluminator XS and the GT4.

It’s a “GT 350” block so I may have been wrong and GT350 now also uses the latest/same version as the predator .

There IS a “Gen 3” 5.2 block as you can see .
Some call it the predator block but it may also be used in the latest version of the Voodoo .

So the "Gen 3" / M52B block is in 2019+ GT350s? or only 2020?

Before the “Gen 3 “ there was a “Gen 2 “ update -
M52A
That was also sold as a GR3Z- 6010- F(no longer available )
I am using that to build a short block for my 18 .
I think that may have gone in the 2019 GT 350 .

There are differences between that block and the M52B/KR3Z-6010 A which is the “Gen 3 “ ...which is definitely the predator block .
The location of the oil squirters have been moved from the mains (Gen 2) to the valley (Gen 3) like in the coyote block .
The latter is also machined to clear larger predator rod bolts .
Otherwise the blocks are the same .
Now I don’t know if they are using the same block exactly in the 2020 GT 350 too with the same oil squirter location but I have heard they start on the same line and then the last machine steps are different.
Top pic is GR/52A
Below is KR/52B
Next pic is squirters Installed in GR
And bottoms is clearance shown in KR

Ok but I just want to know (as I'm considering buying a gt350 shortly) what block is in the 2019 model (gen 2/update/gen 3)a if it's different than the 2020

Can’t say for sure but my suspicion is it’s the same block for 19/20 .
As I explained the only thing that changes the “Gen 2 “ to the “Gen 3 “ is the last step that is machined differently for the predator.

-Voodoo machined for oil squirters in mains .

-Predator machined for oil squirters in the valley and clearanced for the larger rod bolts .
