I need your guys help. I'm ready to purchase new exhaust and then have Adam do a custom tune once done. You can see my mods in my signature. What my issue is, is that I'm afraid to purchase the turbo back because of the loud sound since I drive 70 miles a day highway. Am I really going to see much performance gain from having a race downpipe and catback vs just catback system? If the gains are worth it I can live with the extra sound by adding the downpipe but if they are minimal I will just get the catback and tune from Adam and call it a day.
Thanks for your help as always, this forum is full of great people.

PS, I would be ordering the street MBRP catback and non catted dp (don't have budget for catted)

I have the MBRP race and the map catless downpipe. The sound on highway due to the downpipe are mininal. There is a drone, but it's because of the MBRP, didn't notice much of a difference once I added the downpipe in terms of sound on the highway. It is definitely louder when you start the engine and when you are full throttle.

As far as performance, I haven't taken it to a dyno so I could t give you any real numbers in terms of power gain because of the downpipe. Maybe someone else here can chime in.

The volume shouldn't get too loud as long as the exhaust you choose has large enough mufflers and resonator. Turbos suppress exhaust sound by nature, so it wont be anywhere near as loud as a catless V8.

Why dont you ask Adam if the exhaust is even worth it overall.

Dropping a grand for 10 hp just doesnt make sense IMO.

That's exactly what I asked him when we were going back and forth on email but he never responded to my last email. That's why I'm trying to find out on the thread instead. Lol

I went full turboback and Adam-tuned on my eco. A catless downpipe does add power and the sound isn't overbearing. Any GT with even a catback will make a turboback sound small. So don't worry about the sound.

Which catback were you thinking of going with?
