As far as I know, a tune does nothing to the transmission itself on a manual car. On an auto, it adjusts the shift points and such, but nothing on a manual.

Yes, if done properly you will feel a major difference in how the car runs. Shift firmness, shift points, tq management etc. can all be controlled with a tune.

A tune doesn't effect the manual trans. It doesn't run off of an ECU you still shift it at the desired rpm. The car may reach said point faster but it won't effect how smooth the trans shifts.

Actually a tune WILL affect a manual transmission car if clutch protection is turned off.

From what I understand its a feature in the tune that will pull power at certain times to save the clutch. Most tuners will disable it.

One guy on here in an old thread posted a pic of the tuning tables because people were calling BS on it...

To answer your question, YES.

Of course there are certain parameters that are changed in an auto trans cal that do not exist in a manual cal.

There are several things that are changed in the manual trans cal other than just the rev limiter. Which is what people assume is the only thing that can be changed. The only major thing that gets changed in an auto that doesn't in the MT cal are shift points. Obviously, you chose the shifts (for the Most part) in a MT car.
