Exactly, thank you. From post #313 and up on the last page of the intercooler sticky we were discussing it. I'm sure not everyone has these issues just something to factor in

Check out the intercooler thread that's stickied and look at the last page. That's one example right there. Now it's not certain that his issue is related to the fact that he has an SCT tuner, but it's an interesting coincidence.
That is interesting... but the same people making the same accusations. Not that they are right or wrong. I don't know.

Anyway, Juban noted Torrie does not have issues with tuning EB Mustangs with SCT, while other tuners **might**. So that leads to my point, if true, could it be the SCT device or the person tuning?

Are we trying to say that everyone who tunes for cobb on the EB will "get it right"? Are there other reasons like more SCT back yard tuners vs. cobb?

I can take $1000.00 and take either cobb and SCT classes and come out a "tuner". Not that anyone would want me to tune their car.

I think we should all be smart about who we allow to work on our cars.

I'm not stuck on SCT or defending them... simply want info.

I might add cobb (keep my sct tune) next month though. I like the idea of maps for car theft (keeps your car from starting) and valet parking (can't go over 3000 rpm/35 mph). Doing this quickly is appealing.

The more I read about cobb, the more I'm seeing how useful it can be. And of course Adam is great with answering questions.

It absolutely could be the tuner and not the device itself. The tuner obviously is the most important aspect. How readily available they are if you have issues, their track record, etc. I didn't decide on MAP because of the Accessport. Reading their R&D threads, seeing how active Adam is here on these forums, made a difference to me. The cool features of the Accessport are a bonus.

The top 3 options for me are MAP, Torrie, and Livernois. Not to take away from others but those 3 stood out to me.

Correct but I wouldn't quite classify it as an OTS tune. MAPs e-tune is for those who want the absolute most power possible under their current setup and as they add additional modifications. We all have different mods, live in different locations so things like air quality come in to play, etc. A lot of folks have stated they didn't feel much of a difference going from the stock tune to the Cobb OTS. Can't say the same about Adam's tune though.

As for jtmat, not sure what Eco said that has you getting so uptight man. Some SCT users have reported having issues that don't appear to be affecting others.
You are right about his ots tune. It may be his free ots tune with the purchase of the accessport but it a huge improvement over stock and the other free ots tunes.

I see you made the switch from unleashed to MAP. How do you like it?

I like Adams tuning he does a good job. I mainly switched because I liked the Cobb AP tuner better then the SCT tuner. Otherwise Torrie's tune was good as well.

Even though Adam is new to the Mustang platform, he is making great strides. Everyone has positive reveiws of his tunes. I have a AP alrerady. I was using the Cobb OTS tune prior to switching to Unleashed. I just find that the AP takes longer to marry / uninstall to the car than the X4 does. Maybe it's just me. Joe, how similar do you find the tunes?

The tunes are very similar to me, I can recommend both tune providers to anyone. Adam does have prior experience with ecoboost cars which helped me make the decision to go with him.

I didn't know he had prior experience with the Ecoboost engine. Do you find that the AP takes a long time to marry to the car? I was always worried about my battery dying in the process. That's one reason I switched.

Didn't take long for me. 10-15 minutes or so.

It does take a long time maybe 10-15 mins but I was never worried about the battery dying. It takes much longer then that for the battery to die.

The LMS tuner takes 5 mins from the time u plug it in to the time you're done. I wonder why it's so fast in comparison. I guess it could be because of the multiple maps on the AP

Really? That quick. Their tuners look very odd compared to the X4 and the AP. LOL

Lol it's very simplistic but it does the job. It holds 4 tunes, reads and clears codes and that's it. It's not very sexy

According to their dyno sheets they get some pretty big gains. Any ideas how much you are putting down? Your build looks similar to mine.
