I'm actually thinking about switching to Livernois or to MAP. I was leaning more towards MAP because I like the idea of changing maps on the fly.

I went with MAP mainly over livernois because I didn't like the fact they used there own tuner that only they tune with otherwise they do good quality work and there results prove it.

I'm running the Cobb stage 1 OTS map right now, and I feel no difference between normal and sport mode aside from steering feel. EBM Premium PP with MT. I'd actually like to have the less reactive throttle response in normal like it used to with the sport and track modes getting progressively more aggressive. I miss that. We'll see what happens when I get my semi-custom tune from MAP.

It's a tough toss up. Both companies have proven rusults.

Livernois and MAP were a tough choice for me when I got the tune back in April. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, both put out great numbers and great customer service. I ultimately went Livernois based on their track record and the fact that they have the most ecoboost experience. The map changing is pretty cool with the AP, I just don't think I would use it, but it would be cool to see extra gauges. Though there is some controversy regarding how accurate they really are.

I'm not sure exactly how often I would even use the map switching. I usually only use 91 or 93 octane. 87 hasn't been in my car since it was on the dealers lot. LOL My question is how often does Livernois update tunes? Are you notified when an update has been released? Do you notice any change in how the car drives after the update?

When I first got the tune I was on Version 2 and then like 2-3 weeks later they made an announcement that they were releasing version 6 (I'm guessing the ones in-between were inhouse tunes they were testing). Version 6 changed shift patterns and made the boost hold more consistently. Last friday they announced version 7 is now ready so I sent over my info and I'm just waiting on that one now.

It sounds like they changed a lot based on the below statement:

We of course cannot release specific details about what was changed, but suffice to say it's an almost complete rework of the logic of the tune. Boost levels, fueling, torque reduction, boost control, and many other items have been completely revamped.

I would assume you get emailed when an update is ready and have to plug the tuner into the PC to update?

I actually didn't get an email. They created a thread in their section on the forum though to announce it. But yea they will email me back that my files are ready and then I plug into my PC to update

How does the economy map work? I assume it would make boost come on later

Maps ots tune is free with the accessport purchase from them. If you want a better tune it is $250

Correct but I wouldn't quite classify it as an OTS tune. MAPs e-tune is for those who want the absolute most power possible under their current setup and as they add additional modifications. We all have different mods, live in different locations so things like air quality come in to play, etc. A lot of folks have stated they didn't feel much of a difference going from the stock tune to the Cobb OTS. Can't say the same about Adam's tune though.

As for jtmat, not sure what Eco said that has you getting so uptight man. Some SCT users have reported having issues that don't appear to be affecting others.

I'm not uptight... I don't see the reports and he came off as knowing something that I've not seen. The one thread did not honestly report much. The other parts of his comments were refuted by others.

Do you have more links or posts to point to?

If you guys/gals want to keep "something up" that is fine, but I'm looking for info I can use... outside of what someone "thinks".

Outside of that, I think we can drop it or move it to PM....

Check out the intercooler thread that's stickied and look at the last page. That's one example right there. Now it's not certain that his issue is related to the fact that he has an SCT tuner, but it's an interesting coincidence.
