Auto is just as fun, if not funner. I prefer the Auto on these cars and I tune and drive them both. ;)

I find this really weird. You guys are in "S" correct?

I just took a spin to see if I could replicate and nada. Shifted from 4-5 at 5k and rode it out- kinda sketchy in the dark.

It never up shifted on its own.

Strange indeed..
Im on s, were you ive 100mph? Ive discovered it happens over 100 only. The weird thing is that if i let it shift on its own itll go way past 100 and shift to 5th no problem and stay there

I've driven some of the best DCTs in the game, still prefer a manual in a sports car. It's one of the last "non-computer" connections you still have with the car. There's something satisfying about physically grabbing a part of the machine and changing a gear directly connected to the tranny, instead of mindlessly pushing a button and having a computer do it for you.

There will be a time when cars drive better than humans, just as it shifts better. It will surely be able to steer better, brake better, etc. all while calculating perfect timing; taking you completely out of the experience. But hey, at least you can...or I mean, the car can get a few seconds quicker on the track! Must be so much fun! This is just one step closer to not being connected to the driving experience.

To each their own. Obviously people have different interpretations of what is considered "fun" to them. If y'all enjoy the auto, great. Get it tuned by Adam. He truly is remarkable at what he does.

I hear you and all but paddle shifting cars offer a great experience too. Well not this one but you know...
I wonder how much better paddle shifting will get with the tune

If I want to feel connected I'll go old school and row a T-56, not a removed, isolated, and levered shifter.

I'd beg to differ on the "mindlessly" pushing a button. I have to pay as much or more attention as I ever did with a manual car.

As a long time manual racer, I get it, but the whole purist "sports car" banter is lost on a car that drives itself more than you think.

It's OK to just admit you didn't want to get made fun of for buying a sporty car with an auto. We get it.

I drive manual beautifully, yet, for daily driving manual is a chore.

In Florida we have very few enjoyable roads, so its almost pointless to have a manual in a car like this.

If I were 17-25 then I would probably insist on manual, but since im older not so much.

Once you get really good at a manual you dont need one for a daily driver.

Ya man, you're absolutely right, I'm just lying about my preferences. I cant wait for someone to ask me if my car is auto or manual, just so I can reply to them it's a manual. It sucks I have to drive it though, at least everyone knows I'm cool.

Well you did feel the need to come in a thread about automatic transmissions to tell everyone you have a manual, so there's that...

I was responding to a MT member stating that he thinks he did it did it wrong buying the MT. And then Adam stated his opinion that he feels the auto is more fun. Then I just gave my opinion. If you read my post I acknowledged that I understand people will have other preferences. I didn't buy for a factor of being insecure driving a sports car that's auto. I bought it because that's my preference.

Well it's getting the thread attention. I praised Adam on his tuning abilities. No such thing as bad publicity. Again, I wasn't the first to throw a comment not pertaining to a review, I was just encouraging a fellow MT user down about his purchase. I'll let my self out of this thread and shut the door quietly I'm obviously not welcome here in your auto section haha.
