TSW wheels vs stock

So, I'm thinking of TSW wheels, either Max or Mugello in Hyper Silver (see link above). They run about $265 a piece. Adding in tires, I'm figuring about $2200 for a set. Considering that upgrading from the stock wheels through Ford is approximate $1K, that's not bad. Spending an extra $1200 for wheels that I like, and I'll still have the stock set as a a backup.

Getting these wheels - is it mostly an appearance upgrade or should there be a performance/weight advantage?

Any idea how close the Amaroo wheels look to the GT Performance Package wheels in a side by side comparison?
I will be getting an automatic but really like the look of the PP wheels that are factory to the GT.
Getting the Amaroo wheels in 18" looks to be a reasonable option as long as the offset is correct.

The Amaroos look nice, but I'm not sure about that chrome lip with it.

Not sure how that'd look in-person. Mugello and Max are similar styles with no chrome lip. The NTB website has 20" Mugello on close out , so that wheel may be discontinued.

The only TSW's I'd consider are the rotary forged ones. You're getting a stronger light wheel than the factory wheel the rest are the typical chinese cast wheels.

If that's the case, then maybe the Nurburgring in Gun Metal with mirror face.

TSW Nuburgring looks nice in Matte Bronze. Gunmetal is also neat.
They are expensive at $300+ for 19in.

Do they ever have special sales at lower prices?

I don't even notice any differences.

They are so close that on first inspection they look exactly alike. Look more closely and you will see the subtle differences. The "V" sections are longer. There are extra holes in the hub. Inside the "V" and between spokes they are more rounded than the stock PP wheels as well.

Close enough to fool the average onlooker. ;)

These could be my "budget" PP lookalike wheels if the weight and price are right.
