Torque specs can be misleading. You have to look at the weight of the vehicle AND the torque spec. Terence is likely rating the 6070 with a vehicle weight much higher than either the vette or the mustang.

They're saying 5,000 lbs as max vehicle weight, so I'd imagine they definitely underrated for the 3600 lbs GT.

Sorry, I only know enough about gearing to make me dangerous, as my expertise is in electronics and programming.

Okay, so I've been doing some more research on the z52 vette, and it seems to be that the 6070 w/ 3.73's should actually work quite well. The vette uses 3.42 in the diff, and runs at about 1500 rpm @ 60. This is perfect for what I want in terms of cruising.

And besides that fact, we all know how good the vette is out of the hole. I'm not seeing how the calc's you guys are coming up with say that this would not be an effective transmission.
