There is a thread on another forum by an owner who installed that duct, and had to modify the belly pan for installation. I don't recall if he had to modify any hardware or mounting points also, nor have I gone back to that thread to see if there are any performance updates.

As a general idea, it may make sense to install NACA ducts to direct moving air onto the transmission / cats, and to install heat shielding between the cats and the transmission. There have been some reports that removing the cats has not prevented the overheat situation, but I don't think that was in combination with shielding or ducting.

Unfortunately we never did get an update on how functional that installed air deflector is.

That scoop has been around since the Boss 302 and it was found to not be very functional at all. One owner said it was good for nothing but collecting dirt and rocks from the road.

Yup. Simply blowing some ambient temperature air over the outside of the transmissions case isn't going to help very much.

The ONLY means of cooling on the Boss 302 tranmissions was through finned heat dissipation through the case. Flowing substantially more air over a heat sink has a significant effect on heat dissipation properties. The subject has been well-studied and it is the principal reason that you typically have fans pushing ambient air over heat sinks in electronic equipment. That said, how effective it is in cooling for the tech-pack GT350's remains to be seen.

My V160 has finned heat dissipation also and its good for 700 whp plus with no cooler.
