Transmission issue?

Hey i have a 2019 Mustang GT. Everyone knows who drives a 10 speed if you fast tap the gas pedal it drops to the best gear well i already have had my trans get "updated" once but now (also i know the trans is a learning one ofc) but now when im going a bit slower it drops to 2nd and this is already unusual it never drops past 3rd but for some reason the car learned to drop to 2nd and it feels fknd terrible for the car it literally feels like it falls in its face and im not sure how "I" can make the car unlearn this cause it sounds like its damaging. Any thoughts also im getting tired of the trans making so many shifts i feel like when i begin to gas it around 4/10 throttle and im in 5th gear it drops to 4th then it upshifts in 5th like i hate it the car just feels "dumb" in those moments so maybe another trans "update" is needed also the 2nd gear with the gas pedal tap has never happened to me before. Hopefully i explained this somewhat decent

All you have to do is disconnect the battery for awhile. It will reset the adaptive KAM. It's covered in the manual. It takes a good 2 weeks for things to smooth out after a kam reset.
Most never have to touch it, some people reset it often, others get tunes and it shuts it off.

Wow thanks i didnt know that! Saves me from going to the dealer and leaving it there for a week smh but will disconnecting the battery give me any problems with the electronics or maybe my saved settings or my memory seats

No, it may reset any pre set radio stations but shouldn't mess with anything else as long as you disconnect and reconnect correctly.
If you don't see any improvement after then you might have to take it to the dealer.
You should know immediately after driving if the kam was reset.
You may or may not see a rougher idle on the first startup if the kam is reset and a few of the first shifts might be rough which should go away after driving for awhile.

+1 on removing the battery terminals to do a hard reset. That should fix it.

With a battery disconnect, only the trans memory, fuel trims (let the car idle for a few minutes to re-learn them, to avoid rough idling), and preset radio memories, should be erased. Seat memories, dash and Sync settings, should be preserved.

Finally, why not quit 'tapping the gas pedal'??? I didn't know about that when I owned a 2018 F-150 Platinum... but wouldn't have used it anyway, even without paddles (I used the gear lockout switch). Since you have paddles, just use them when you want to downshift, and you can drop to exactly the gear you want. Just saying .

The 10R80 is an adaptive learning transmission. The below thread contains the information about how to reset the adaptive learning of the 10R80 based on M6G Members and Ford’s recommendations (Post # 15 has the Ford Shop Manual info - thanks goes to @DickR):

Adaptive learning can also be reset via Forscan for those who use the tool (thanks goes to @Blown86GT):

Hopefully you are familiar with the software and have the correct adapter. If not, let me know and I can send you the Forscan software link and the laptop adapter I used to hook up to my car.

Click on the wrench button within FORscan. You will see several modules listed under the service procedures tab. Click on clear adaptive strategy for the PCM module. Then push the play button at the bottom of the FORscan GUI. Once complete, you should be set...
