If Im at 650whp Whipple ,Manual, Whats a good wheel and tire combo? 17x10 wheels ? And would the Nitto Nt05r 305-35-19 be enough or should I go with Slicks?

Is there a difference on how hard it is on the drivetrain when launching the car using drag radials vs slicks?, they told me it absorbs the shock better since the tires give vs nitto Nt05r which has a stiffer sidewall ?

I assume you are talking specifically for track days, and not as daily driver tires..?

Slicks or drag radials, they will put stress on the rear. 17x10 with a good drag radial for track.. For a street car, I would go a 19" or 20" wheel combo.. I prefer a 305/35/20 drag radial on the rear with a 275/35/20 on the front.. I am a staggered wheel guy, find a 20x9 and 20x11 combo or a 20x9/20x10 combo..

Yes , track days is where I need this setup for,but Im considering using it on the street when someone calls me out on a race, since I mostly use my car for daily, Im gona go with tires for the stock wheels so I can use when raining and that give me some more miles , and just switch wheels when more traction is needed

street comp tires are not for traction... they are basically a DD tire like an all season...

if your looking for something for street/strip then definitely a drag radial...
ive used the et street II, R's, and now the S/S... they all hook great and can be used both at the track and on the street. if your manual you just need to be easier leaving with them at the track.

I don't get the whole drag radials for the street. I guess in TX. you could get probably away with it. Noway you could run drag's in the Northeast as daily's. At least not safely.
