During my A/X event yesterday, I experimented with leaving in second gear. This was a short coarse (fast cars in the mid 38s - my best was a low 41). Start was a sharp right into a two-cone slalom and then into a left-hand sweeper. Shifting into second proved to be a challenge for me given the coarse design. Hence my experiment.

In any event I started using a second gear starts. Generally this proved to be the best solution for me. However, at the end of the run (41 seconds) I was getting warning lights telling me traction control was not available nor was hill assist. I always run the car in Track mode at these events. Basically, the computer deactivated the system killing my mode selection during the run. In order to regain use of the system, I had to turn off the car, wait a bit and then restart.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, a solution besides my work-around?

Sometimes it gets confused. I get that warning if I drive on dirt roads once and a while.

Honestly for autox, you may skill up faster just running with T/C and AdvanceTrac set completely off

I agree but there is a misunderstanding. When in track mode, not only is TC deactivated but the drive by wire works much better - more responsive. What occurs is track mode is deactivated during the run causing the throttle to go wonky. This has only occurred when I start the run in second gear. If TC was the only issue there wouldn't be a problem. But loosing throttle response is not helpful at all.

Turn AdvanceTrac off and you shouldn't have the issue of Track mode being deactivated.

Yup turn off advancetrac too. It won't interrupt your Track setting then.
