I know the Barrett Jackson thing was for charity and whoever bought it must be filthy rich but that's kind of weak, lol. Anyway so those of you who ordered first with dealer stock will be getting the cars that went down the line as a "dry run"? Hope its all good. :) seriously congrats though, cannot wait to see pics of the cars in people's driveways.
^^^^ What he said, my dealer told me the same thing.
^^^^ Yup, told me the same thing too, but I wanted it anyway. I'll be buying the Extended Service Plan just in case they left an extra bolt at the bottom of my engine and it takes more than the first 36k miles to show up :p

Have you been given an estimate on when the car will be shipped?

My dealer said late September, but of course that is pretty vague and subject to change.

I'm going to take a guess and say early October.

Well, I'm in one of the better spots really. In the first batch of scheduled orders, but at the tail end. So they hopefully have gotten in a groove and things are going smoothly now. Well at least as smoothly as possible. However, hopefully it'll still get a nice solid QC done before shipment.

Time will tell though.

I think any time you buy a car it is a crap shoot. Six months from now a FRAP employee could be hung over, tired, hyped on too much Red Bull, or just getting ready to quit and can really mess up a car's longevity. I like to think these early cars are handled with more care (or fixed in the QC stage), but you just never know. I like the idea that my car was built BEFORE the first official Mustang was built (and purchased for 300k.) Sort of like getting to date Gisele Bundchen before Tom Brady married her :D

Actually the "dry runs" were done back in March and April" Tooling trials were in July August, and everything built since mid august is full production. The 28th was a ceremony day when everybody had their schedules clear, not actually the first day.
