Hello Everyone!

I am piecing together my shopping list for my TR-6060/Magnum XL swap

I think I may have found a cheap TR-6060 out of a 2007 GT500 locally.

So far I know I need...

TR-6060
Performance Pack Diff
New drive shaft (would a GT500 drive shaft work?)
New 26 spline Clutch
New throwout bearing
New Shifter? (Does anyone make a TR-6060 shifter that mounts to the tranny like a XL but would fit a 2016?)

Unsure about the following...

Speedo Correction?
Crossmember?
Sensors?
Tacos?
Beer?

If anyone can fix or add to my list please let me know.

Also does a TR-6060 from any other car work? The Camaro TR-6060 has a tad more favorable gear ratios.

Aye, thank you.

That covers about 90% of it but most of that I have in my list.

The sensor part is what it mainly leaves out and I am really lost on.

Cool but you know that the magnum xl trans is different from the gt-500 6060 right. The biggest difference is the magnum top of trans mounted shifter compared to the gt-500 remote mounted shifter. The magnum also has better synchros as well. there are some more stuff different to...but any way you slice it will be much better then an mt-82!

There will be 3 harnesses to think about,

1. Reverse lights - you can either cut and splice or purchase a pigtail. 2 wires on both sides
2. Reverse lockout - I did not wire mine, but most will wire to brake lights and a ground. 2 wires
3. Speed sensor - this one is more involved. OEM uses an electronic trigger and he Tremec uses a magnetic signal. Most purchase an Abbott box, but I went with the cheaper MSD-8509. It's just 3 wires to deal with and my other thread goes into more details. You'll need your tuner to refresh your tune to allow everything to "speak the same language"

I don't like "tuner"

Do I HAVE to have a tune?

Interesting, I was under the impression they were the same trans with different shifter setups (like the normal T-56 vs the Magnum XL)

I would prefer the XL but I have a potential steal on a used TR-6060 so if that didn't go through I would definitely grab a Magnum XL.

I am mainly doing this to solidify the car. I plan to have it for a LOOONG time and I want to get the swap done while my transmission is still worth something.

The Abbott has adjustability, so you may be good there - I'm not 100%.

The MSD I used simply converts the signal and then the my tune had to be modified so they speak the same language.

The Abbott converts the signal and also configures it to stock levels.

Hit up Ben Calimer. He sells more than a 6060; he builds it and sells it. If you're gonna do this journey don't you want something that will last?

Speedo correction won't be an issue. 15+ read the speed from the ABS sensors.

Crossmember; the 6060 trans cross member from ford fits perfect.

Get an abbott box if you want cruise to work.

Let me know if you have any questions. I did my swap built by Ben Calimer and love it.
