I am purchasing separate set of wheels for my Cup 2's (track days). Do I have to install the TPMS sensors, will it mess with the car's computer and not run if not installed?

Thanks

If no TPMS sensors are installed you will get a tire light on the dash. Nothing else will be affected.

Note that I would think being able to tell whether or not a tire is going down if/when the car starts to handle strangely in a session would be handy and worth the price of another set of sensors. They also can give you approximate real time info on pressure and therefore temperature increases during the session.

What they said. No running issue but the sensors are not expensive, easy to install when putting on tires, and easy to program. Very worthwhile to have live pressure data when track racing.

True, I’ll probably add them but wanted to know if it would cause any other issues.

Thanks for replies,

A set of 4 tpms sensors is only like $50 :p
