Touch up paint question

Hi,

Is touch up paint a good long term solution to nicks and scratches on our Mustangs? And if so should I just buy some or have a professional do it?

My 2016 Mustang has tons of nicks and scratches after years of it being a highway commuter car. It’s not noticeable from a few feet away but since it’s my daily driver I notice it. I’ve had it almost 7 years now and want to keep maintaining it for 2 or 3 more years of driving.

Taking the car to a detailer for their input and a quote sounds like a good idea; they could perform a pro-level paint correction/polish ). The results can be surprising (in a good way ). If your budget allows for it, placing PPF in a few strategic locations could help prevent future blemishes.

With rock chips, the aim is to "fill" them rather than "painting" them. I use a small artists brush to "drip" or dab paint into the chip. You can use a toothpick or syringe to do the same thing. The key thing to consider with paint touch ups is patience.

+1. Dr ColorChip can be used for small chips and even larger areas of rash. Always had perfect results. Not the cheapest, but the best.
