Torque management

Anybody turn it off? Talk to my tuner he said he can disable it completely. I'm thinking I might let him do it. I figure my warranty is already down the drain so F*** it. What do u guys think?

If you have an auto, I'm told it turns off rev matching also.

Lund got mine shifting perfect without turning off torque management. Best of all worlds now! Turning off not needed.

OP has the performance package which is a manual transmission.

At least two different tuners have said removing torque management isn't as simple as unchecking a box.

Bama gives you two tunes and from what I can tell the biggest difference is the TM from what I can feel. The performance tune keeps rev match and the race removes it. Without it on, the auto shifts are much more firm and less hang. You will break your tires loose going into second if you are on it though where as before it never would. The rev match is cool but shift are much better with TM off IMHO.

i just set my shift firmness to 230 which is max on my intune today and it bangs hard. ill be tuning it down for snow thats for sure.

When the PCM sees excessive torque being applied(like launching at a drag strip) the computer will pull engine torque to reduce the potential for damage. It works just like traction control but without actuating the brakes. This can't simply be deactivated in a tune but needs to be adjusted to allow full launches without other adverse affects.
