that was on sale before Christmas for about £100... just saying. I looked at it, but didn't take the plunge.

i bought a set of halfords sockets once as soon as they come up against a tough nut the just split and broke i've now replaced them all with snapon and seeley much better quality only halfords thing left is the tool chest that came with them.

get on ebay and buy the sockets individually can get good quality ones (even silverline are better than halfords) for a couple of quid each build your own set for less more fuss but alot cheaper and you won't regret it later down the line.

I bought one, at the Black Friday price. It's good and has the advantage that whatever I've done with the rest of my tools I can still put a complete kit in the car and go. Doesn't match up with high end ratchet spanners for example but it has a no quibble lifetime guarantee which apparently Halfords are good at honouring. It doesn't skip sizes either which a real pain with a lot of sets.

Only thing i'd like to see in there is a 5 1/2 socket. Rest of it all seems useless, most of the bolts i've found have been 5, 7, 5 1/2m, and then some torx bit's. But if you've got nothing in the garage, yet, everything looks useless, jack and axle stands will come in use too ;)!

I can't fault Halfords professional tool range:)

Most of my kit is Halfords, and it's had a lot of use.. Yes I've broken the odd socket, but to be fair, it's almost always been down to abuse, using more leverage than they were designed for...:D

I've taken them back, and always received a free replacement..

If you can buy during one of the many Sales they have, I think they offer excellent VFM:thumbsup:

I can't fault Halfords professional tool range:
That's what I have to look after my Caterham (well ex Caterham, I sold it this weekend), I always keep any eye out to see if they have any of it on "special"!

It's the same set that I have except mine are chrome not black, I got it for £150 2 years ago. It's a good set and nothing out of it has broken ... yet.

Agree with Enoch - have had a Halfords professional 500 piece set now for nearly 15 years. Three ratchets, t bars, knuckles, scanner set and ratchet scanner set. Etc etc

Just over hundred quid in the sales and I would buy again. Think snap on is highly over rated now for the price point and the halford professional stuff is good, the budget stuff like all budget stuff tends to suck shit through cheesy socks.
