Any idea what the Pairing settings under engineering mode is for? Mine shows all zeros
They don't really do much... I have some with numbers and some I reset to 0 and I didn't see any changes...

Is there any way to do a factory reset? I have tried everything and my navigation still has no sound for voice guidance

Yes by reflashing the unit... (the reset button isn't a real reset. It's more of a reboot than anything else.)

Here's my early prototype! I made a quick video of my exploit for Android Auto (Not working on Apple device for Apple Car Play. Sorry... I gave up on Apple a long time ago lol). Anyways... This is really a prototype and for some reason I've been testing the GPS all day and the voice worked. I made the video and it didn't lol (it's always like that with me haha). This prototype will work with the current Sync that we have in our car and we will be able to link our phone as you can see to listen to music or scanner radio (App to listen the EMS,Fire Dpt, Cops,...). You will be able to make calls and listen to text messages and answer them via "Ok Google". It won't need any special wiring. I'm still looking to port Android OS to the Tomtop unit... I will check to create a universal ROM for Android Device later on. Enough talking here's the proto:

PS: Here's my devices:

Nexus 7 (2012 WiFi Only) Custom Rom running 7.1.1 & Custom Kernel with overclocked CPU/GPU
Nexus 6P with Stock 7.1.1 and full Pixel Mods

Yup it works with the latest Android version!

Edit #2: Here's what to expect from my custom setup later on:
1*. A/C control on the unit (even without having premium pack). I will use an Arduino to do the control part and create a hardness for non-premium car.
2*. Backup Camera with line assist (OEM one)

Couple of questions.

1. For the latest update; is the lang file updated or does it still display one connected?

2. Does the update include the nav update (nexgen) or do I need to do that afterwards?

Thanks for making updates for this product!

Alrighty, let me answer that for you

1*. The lang file is somewhat updated... The "One Connect" issue is still in it because I used an old one by accident. But that's a newer XML that will fix the Chinese issue. If you want to correct some stuff you will need to dump that newer XML and modify the "One Connected" thing.

2*. The NAV isn't included in that update due to the limited NAND space on the unit. This is why they were using that SDCard slot on the side of the unit. You will need to download the newer GPS files and update it from there.

3*. Enjoy!

Navigation Still No Sound

Well I have reflashed the unit and set up the original Primo navigation and I still have no sound for navigation. I tried everything but still no luck. I know that before any updates were done, ther was sound from the Navigation.

I can't think of anything else I can do. If anyone has any ides, I welcome it. I wonder if there is a setting in the navigation that turns sound back on. How does the navigation communicate with the unit.

the nav works via a different board from the unit. That board didn't get updated during the process and it shouldn't be unless the manufacturer requires it and send special files for it. That's kinda strange you can't have sound anymore though... Let me think about it and I'll get back to you if I think of anything that could cause that issue.

Do you have a "Backup" Folder in your sdcard with the Nextgen folder? If so try to delete it and run the nav again. Also, Try to re-download the netgen/primo files and copy them over again.

I did delete the backup folder but still no sound. I will try downloading the nextgen navigation again and try it. I even tried deleting the profiles folder under the save folder for the original Primo navigation

Also, With the sdcard adapter don't forget to do the procedure to remove a drive safely. (I know... Who does it this days? Even me I don't do it and I only do it for that unit because WinCE is picky  )

I have been removing the SD card safely to avoid complications. Hopefully this works.
