I did try contacting them. They gave me that code and told me to put it in the System Update option to change my language to English completely, because I inquired about the Chinese mute button, and the Phone Connected being cut off.

It changed it ALL to Chinese.. very frustrating.

I am now communicating with Amazon to see what my options are. It's going to be hell if I have to take everything apart again. I should've just saved more and opted for the Moddiction unit or the Raxiom unit.

EDIT: By the way, what enticed me the most about the unit I purchased (KKmoon or Docooler) was the price point of $300.00. I'm not worried about HDMI or anything too fancy. I just wanted a customized navigation program.



EDIT 2: I'VE GOT THE CODE TO CHANGE IT BACK TO ENGLISH! They were sending me on a wild goose chase. Very frustrating to be without a head unit that's not in English for nearly 3 weeks!

Thank you so very much bro. That did the trick. I had to use the other code to switch back to English under Sys Update. Finally I am able to enjoy this new navigation unit and it is looking promising so far.

As far as I can see, everything has switched back to English. You might want to also update with the latest fix from www.stangatx.tk

I switched to English and updated everything from that website. Next, I will be updating Nav to NextGen.

Images

So is anyone here good with image fixing (photoshop paint and such) i can PM you the files via dropbox and maybe you can start editing some of the images I really don't know how to do all that. It seems during the unpacking some of the .bmp images were corrupted and they appear cropped awkwardly. I don't want this to die off the tomtop has potential to be a great system (my personal belief anyway). I've done some playing around with with windows and was actually able to change the system time issue but its not easy by anymeans and i never really had a time issue to begin with (was fixed after applying the update) also is anybody willing to part with a usb wifi dongle I am working on getting WAZE to work on the system (ive got it loaded up and running just need an internet connection) to the actual tomtop unit to test and work out a few "bugs"

I'm a graphics designer and I use Photoshop. Ican help you out if you wish.

Yes Nextgen is definitely better than Primo. You'll get the Maps updated and also the street announced. I built a light skin for our unit to make it as light as possible. The lang will correct the one connected yes

I switched my navigation to Nextgen but now I have no voice guidance. I hear the volume from my radio decrease like there is going to be voice directions but no voice. I tried switching back to Primo but still no sound either.

Do you have any ideas how I can get back the voice guidance

Go back too stangatx website, click on"apps" there is instructions on the issue for volume on the GPS after update and how to fix it.

(Also, if anyone wants to change your startup screen: You just need an 800x600 .bmp. Open settings, engineering mode (password 888999), then there's an option right there to choose startup wallpaper. Navigate to the file on your MicroSD card, and Bob's your uncle.)

Anyway:

I followed instructions from stangatx website but still no voice guidance sound. Do you have any other ideas why I am not getting voice guidance for navigation? Is there anyway to factory reset and start from scratch.

Any idea what the Pairing settings under engineering mode is for? Mine shows all zeros
