i know my wifi box isnt that great but i also think its the unit itself. When i go into reverse the quality on the screen (video) is not the best. My maxima screen was better for sure. ( to lazy to take out the blueray player outside and test the av connection)

those are the only things you need to buy unless you don't have AV cables lying around the house like I did (red white yellow av cables like for an older tv). I installed the tomtop Via the write up in another post, but I attatched the Yellow av video cable to the DTV cable on the tom top harness and the white and red av cable into the tom top harness as well. I then ran the three AV cables and the tomtop harness USB wire with the usb splitter cord under the center console all the way to the back of the console (console removal is also outlined in another thread). I then hooked up the hdmi to av converter to the cables that i ran and used a small 1 ft HDMI cord to hook the iphone digital Lightning av converter and a regular lightning cable to the USB splitter that is attatched to the tomtop usb cord then hooked up the HDMI to av converter (it has a power cable included in its box) and the lightning cable into the Lightning av converter. at this point you should have screen mirroring enabled once you hook the Lightning av converter into your phone! I went a step further and drilled a small hole into the bottom of the center console under the arm rest to run the lighting cable extention and hide all the other wiring so only one lighting cable shows from the bottom. if there are any questions or if this isnt clear please let me know

This will only work with android that supports MHL hdmi correct? My samsung s6 edge doesnt support this =( bah.

Android phone with Mhl cable works just fine . tested with note 4.
Beside , here is update : front camera works perfect ( connect to the second yellow cable, 1st one for screen mirror )

I haven't mounted the camera and routed cable yet. Just want to test the camera first.
Update on my Microsoft miracast dongle: i can connect phone, got it mirror but audio is distorted. Then i took the dongle out , replaced it with MHL cable and everything worked perfectly. Maybe i return the dongle and just use the MHL cable .

Ok guys, tomtop ebay just emailed me 3 files. One of them is the user manual on PDF that we already have. One of them is a word document that I think is informing you on how to update the system but it's just 3 pics and is in Chinese. And the last file is a DAT file. I'm not sure where to go with this thing. So, if someone wants to take a look at this thing just send me your email and I'll forward the file to you. I'd post it up here but it's an invalid file format and I'm not sure you can download other people's files over google drive?

The doc writes you put data (I believe it's the .dat file) in an empty usb drive and insert it just like in the first pic, then the second pic would show at start-up, and the language updating will take around 1 minute.

So just installed unit and everything works perfect except my sync. When I select sync it says initializing for 60s then nothing happens, screen goes black? Anyone else have this issue? Also what are u guys doing with the old 4" screen?

You probably have done this already, but make sure you turn the car all the way off, then start the engine. Mine was stuck in a sort of half-on mode where everything worked except sync, and once i turned it all off, then started the engine it started working correctly. It did not work with just run mode on. Some on the forum have had to disconnect their battery and reconnect it.
