I had a coworker ask me today if the toggle switches are standard on our 2015 mustangs or if you had to order a certain package to get them? I am not sure but just presumed they were a standard option. I did a little looking but unable to really look since work is busy for once LOL. Does any one know by chance?

Thanks,

This is one of the reasons I want a premium. The interior without the toggles looks so plain and has an overload of buttons. The premium with toggles looks a lot more clean and sporty.

I wonder if you can fit the the toggle switch unit into the base gt. It looks like it could be a direct swap

You might be able to physically fit the toggles in there, but I doubt the switches for the hazards, traction control, etc hook up the same or are even in the same area. So I think you'd lose functionality.

All the buttons of the base radio are the only reason I was kinda "meh" about the base package, but I've already heard from Crutchfield that an integration kit is probably not far off to fit a better looking aftermarket option....now whether or not the toggles would be, or could be, added is still unknown, a few switches are no reason to get leather and spend another $4k :D

No one knows this yet. If a GT and base owner were brave enough to take a look, we'd have a simple answer.

I'm sure the hazards, TC and Steering modes would be simple though to do, they are just on/off for 2 of them and the 3rd is a 3 push.

During my test drive, I set the toggles once then completely forgot about them. The base setup actually seems pretty perfect for me at least.

You have to remember that all buttons/switches in modern cars use resistance values to determine state. For instance when the hazards is pressed a certain resistance value is sent to the BCM/SJB which in turn activates a relay connected to the hazard lights. So as far as fitting toggles into a base car... As long as the toggles/push start button are on a separate circuit board then the climate controls (I am inclined to think that this is NOT the case) then it should be a simple swap. 3 of the toggles will work while the drive modes toggle would require the PCM to be re-flashed with AS Built data from a premium model. (Most likely)

I wonder the same with the PP dash in a non-PP car.

As long as the wiring is there is should be as easy as buying a PP dash and installing it.

this is why i went base. i would set them, and forget them. they are nice, they are pretty, but.... overall, my eyeballs will be focused out the window, and they would be forgotten. :)
