ok, so I went and did it......

WOW,,,, I cannot explain how much better it is and to think I was 50/50 on having it done.....
My friend, resistance is futile. Succumb to the dark side. Prepare to buy stuff you never dreamed of before.

But you won't regret any of it.
My steeda have for sure bedded in still clunking
Knocking like there loose that's progressive for ya
So that's the noise I can hear on mine. I mentioned it to MoZ when he drove mine to try out the transmission bushing. You just made me feel a whole lot better.

Oh lord my dealer rang me today and he thinks the car will be with him in the next week and then I read this, more to the list but lowering a convertible looks fab, oh dear.

Once it's 'bedded' in, get the geometry checked and adjusted if need be. Reason being, it'll be too late by the time you see scrubbing on the inside or outside of the tyre, then it's new tyre time as well ;)

One thing I ment to add, I sourced my spacers from Lenny at motor tech in the states, and had them done in the black finish.

Its only a small difference but looking last night the black ones do match nicely with the black pp wheels so it just looks like it is the wheel itself, rather than another silver finish between the wheel and disk hub....

cheers

Nice, I like the idea of black spacers. Close up pic please, may get mine done.
Also, a nice side on view. I think this is the first rag top I have seen lowered. Genuinely interested in that.

tbh, I think the spring kit and spacers rearly suit the convertible and it does tighten the car up nicely, its a must do mod in my view, even if you only ever do this one thing....
if you look you can just about make out the spacer, so if you have black wheels and you have the option of black spacers over silver I would highly recommend it....

So, are the stock shocks okay for lowering? Though I haven't modded a car in this fashion in some years, it used to be that a shock/spring combo was the only way to go. I know things have moved on significantly though.

Tbh, not really as they're fairly unexciting :D
I just preferred the overall look. Here's one of the car from the side though not particularly clean...

the eibach pro kit springs are designed to work with the stock shocks etc like most of the mild drop ones from what I understand.... FFRP and Steeda's presumably the same...
Yes, I suppose uprated shocks may make the car even better, but I'm happy with it as it is, I was happy with the ride in stock form and its better than that imo....

I didn't go down the coilover route etc etc and new shock route as I wanted to be able to just swap the springs back out and I'm back at stock again....
Probably never do that though :)

tbh, I had the choice when ordering on the colour, IF I hadn't got black I don't know if I could have been bothered in spraying them, however the pp wheel is quite busy so you probably wont notice the silver ones that much anyways....
Fit em and see....
