I have no clue about this stuff...but....

New springs to lower and spacers top push the wheels out? is that right?

I might do :D

Here's how it looks lowered and with 23mm on the rear, 25mm spacers on the front for those that are dithering

Spot on!! :)

Next stop the allignment, the next nightmare was about to begin.

Ford factory specification is:
Front camber: -1.03
Front total toe: 0.00
Rear camber: -1.50
Rear total toe: +0.23

Ford Racing/Handling specification for circuit / auto X is:
Front camber: -1.55
Front total toe: 0.00
Rear camber: -1.98
Rear total toe: +0.23

As most of you know I've being researching parts for a year and settings so I knew the Ford Racing specification was truly only for track and not ideal for road as a few users had reports using such settings on the road impeded the cars performance, did not improve it.

So I went with following settings:

To translate that into American it reads as following:
Gibbo's recommended settings for UK roads:
Front camber: -1.33
Front total toe: +0.05
Rear camber: -1.55to1.65
Rear total toe: +0.26

So a little more aggressive than the Ford Performance Pack settings from the factory, this will give a great balance of wet handling on roads along with good sporty driving in the dry.

Now onto what the stock suspension adjustments offer:
Toe front and rear, you can dial in easily with stock components.
Rear camber: IT IS ADJUSTABLE, once lowered you can get -1.00 upto -2.50, just undo the upper camber arm bolt, it is slotted, and has a good 2-3 degrees of adjustment available.

Front camber: Camber bolts are an absolute must, there is practically zero adjustment available for front camber, so bolts or top mounts an absolute must. I used BMR camber bolts, they work very well and cost ÂŁ20. :)

Heres mine.
Nice and low and I do Multi Story car parks, drive all around London, Road humps and have to bounce up a kerb every day to get to my house (long story but dropped kerb applied for).

I have never had a problem with comfort or grounding, not even the front splitter.

Sorry about the pesky BMW in the background!

We have our Steeda Ultralite Springs in stock, Steeda Sport Linear Springs in stock and a new batch of Steeda Sport Progressive Springs en route if anyone is inspired by this thread!

BTW I agree with the above post from Jimboy "All cars need lowering. "

Also if people want a more dramatic drop, we have just launched our "Extreme lowering Spring" See more Steeda Ultralite Extreme Lowering Springs

PIC OF EXTREME SPRING:

These aren't in stock yet, but should be available for late September. However if you are interested please let me know as we won't get many in, until we know if they are something people in the UK & Europe want.

More information on our Linear and Progressive springs options can be found here:

Am thinking about the Progressive Springs for next year with my service, Mike showed me them, I think you deal a lot with Modurstang so would be going though them

goldengooner yes Mike is a big believer in Steeda springs and has been for a long time. It is his default spring choice. He should be stocking the GT Progressives so whenever you are ready he should be too! (Although give him a chance to get them back in as he just sold his last set and is waiting for us to get some more in! 8) )

Manders Mustang The Extreme Lowering spring is around a 2" drop all round (compared to our normal 1"). Prices for springs are currently ÂŁ299 inc vat for most versions except for the Sport Linears which are ÂŁ319 inc vat. I can happily throw in free shipping for you too if you want to get a set in.

ok, so I went and did it......

WOW,,,, I cannot explain how much better it is and to think I was 50/50 on having it done.....

FIRST, Dave at GT101 did a fantastic job and anybody thinking of going there, do it... they are first class. Been twice and wouldn't go anywhere else now. They know there stuff period.

On my GT convertible, Eibach pro kit and 25mm front spacer and 23mm rear spacer.

Its tightened up the sloppiness of the ride that I didn't even realise was there lol ! it drives so much better I rearly am quite surprised. Its 95% as comfortable as it was before but 50% better in the tightness of the drive, I'm a happy bunny.

As for looks, well I cant even contemplate how money could be better spent on a Mustang ! read my opening post, I was unsure as I liked the stock look, I was so nervous of messing the look up but boy, it looks perfect now imo.

Will try to get pics up when I get a moment but ANYONE on the fence about doing it like I was, just do it, you will not be disappointed.

cheers
