Michelin or Continental, can’t go wrong with either. I prefer Continental, perform just as well as Michelin IMO but priced a little better. But you’re probably splitting hairs as far as performance differences.

Nitto G2’s SUCK! They came on my 2016 V6 (I bought it used) and they were terrible. And I only had 300 hp at my disposal. Can’t imagine them at the GT or higher power level.

If you are not interested in one of the street drag radials, (Nitto rii...not g2) then the Conti ExtremeSport 02 are great tires.

I’ve heard the r2 aren’t the greatest that’s why I kinda iffy about it

I make 740whp right now I know the radial will be my best bet but if you get caught in the rain I don’t believe they will do good I also looks at the r888r from toyo

Similar to the Cup2, I would expect the R2 and R888 to not perform well in the rain. Especially at 700+hp. Doable, but you’d want to be very light on the long peddle. I don’t have first hand experience with the R2 or 888 but I have driven on Cup2’s several times, once in the rain. And it got a bit sketchy.

I am not trying to talk you into the drag radial. :) Light rain is not an issue until you get that already low tread depth down to about half. I got caught in a really hard two-hour downpour coming back from Atlanta. I put it in Wet mode and slowed down to about 35 MPH, which luckily everyone else was driving also and didn't have any sliding/hydroplaning. I've had my Conti 02 on for the past couple of months and they are fine for daily driving. I'm only at 685 whp and let me tell you, if you get down on it , it is going to spin through 3rd but not too bad. If I only had the one choice for tires, it would be the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s or the Conti.

OP, here is a tread comparison between the Nitto rii and the Conti 02. The rounded shoulders of the Conti make it appear to be slightly narrower than the Nitto. The Nitto isn't as slick as would be expected......but......I only got about 5-6k miles out of mine...thus the pic of new ones bought at the same time as the Conti.

Yeah if it rains a lot where you are, don’t bother buying 555G2 they suck. I hated driving them in the rain even going 40mph. My rear still have plenty of thread but once my health gets better I will be changing them to MP4S. I love those tires as I don’t have t on worry about changing them or stopping because of bad weather.

The rii is considered one of the best drag tires for the street. It is the g2 that absolutely sucks when used on all 4 corners.
I'll second that, just took 4 months to get...

The Continental extreme sports are on par with michelin . I run them on my 21gtpp manual and they are a great tire. I have ran them on the 1/8 mile track and they performed great. They actually beat the michelin on wet surfaces and dry just a tad lower for less money

If you like the nitto brand run the invos. That is a great tire. Tread life not so great

I've noticed something interesting when it comes to tires on these cars. Those of us with manuals tend to experience more spinning of tires than those with autos. I am pretty sure it has to do with the torque management differences. A coworker that also has a Roush (we both have same whp) says he never spins his Conti and I on the other hand can get mine to spin in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. He has the original ExtremeSport and I have the ExtremeSport 02.

Any noticable advantage to running cup2, Rii, r888r vs MP4S -- in the front? I'm running 285 front, 325 rear (I know). Just hard street driving. Don't care about cost or mileage. Appreciate the input!

The fronts are just along for the ride :)...and steering of course, so I would say it depends on what you are doing. Road course...Cup2 all around. Drag racing Rii in the rear and something else in the front. Street MP4S all around. Street if you are going to run Cup2, then all around. Street Rii in the rear and matching g2 in the front.....they are there for the ride and the ability to steer in light rain :).

For clarification, I only used the tires listed, knowing there are plenty of other brands that are used for road course, drag, street.

MPS4's is a great street tire. I've only noticed the cup 2's are way better from 7.5/10ths and up. Never drove the Cup 2's in the rain , I hear their not much good. My friend just bought the Nitto 555 v2 for his ZL1 and hates them
