Yeah the Mach 1 HP wheels come with Cup 2's just like the Shelby. I hated them on the road. They wandered REALLY bad. So hence almost a DUI :) The PS4S were much better, but still a bit twitchy as they aged. The Conti I am VERY impressed with so far. And they look good too :) I rarely drive in rain, but I have heard they are much better in rain too.
Can vouch for them in the rain. Even in cool spring rain (temps in the low 50’s and pouring rain, actually). Obviously still have to take it easy because it’s a 450+hp RWD car, but they handle very well in wet conditions.

I often drive in the rain so am interested in trying out the difference after doing 2 sets of PS4S for 6 years now.

Also interested to see how they age, the Michelin's definitely get squiggly as they go down. Tread still is decent by many people's standards, but I don't trust them to push too hard anymore after some squiggly incidents when I didn't expect them/they don't normally happen.

I just put new ECS02’s on in late March after 4 years on the original ECS’s. They still had good tread left (6-7/32) but they were getting a bit slick and squiggly as you experienced with the PS4S. I do go for some spirited drives, so I wanted new tread to make sure I have proper grip that I can rely on. For normal every day driving/cruising, I could’ve gotten one more year out of them. In my experience they do wear a little better than the Michelins.

I put 18,000ish miles a year on. I'll let you know soon enough how they wear.

Both sets of the PS4S I had I felt were about done after 3 seasons of around 4-5k miles each season. I do like to step on it and kick my tires out a little whenever there's a chance so I never expected long life. And I am not opposed to a surprise burnout.

4 seasons would be a nice bonus before things started feeling bad.

Not familiar with Ultra Contacts. You mean Sport Contact 6s or 7s? Those are good but wear fast and have no treadwear warranty that I’m aware of.

I believe you all down under get the EC Sport 02s labeled as MaxContact MC7s. Go check those out because the tread pattern seems nigh identical to our EC Sport 02s. And my other car

Is it a real Holden or a rebadged SS? Reason I asked is there’s a guy here that has an actual Holden. He said it was a pain to import from down under.

Yes. Those two are one and the same. Built at Elizabeth, South Australia plant on same line as all Commodore SSV Redlines. But yes, it had the Chevy badges and LH drive to be sold here as an SS Sedan lol. So, it’s a real Holden and has also been rebadged.

Got it. Guy here has one and it’s RHD and whole nine yards. Said it was a pain in the butt to get it here from Australia. He was hell bent on getting the RHD vs the LHD Chevy version for the US

Yes. I had a set recently in 265/35 and 285/35 on my SS Sedan because they were $625 for all 4 on a Tire Rack close out sale. My opinion is they have great steering response and communication of grip/breakaway and they’re very good in warm temps, dry or wet. However, they’re bad below 55F compared to the PS4S or EC Sports, and, the treadwear is pathetic. The 285/35s came molded at 7/32” depth, so, I got about 8500 miles before hitting 4-4.5/32s” and useless in rain on the rear.

Needless to say, I went back to running 275/35 square set of the EC Sport 02s a couple months ago and I’m glad I did. Even at $1200 they’re totally worth it.

Interesting! I need to compare the tread. Wouldnt be surprised if so, Bridgestone RE003/4 Adrenaline are Firestone Indyhawk 500's in the USA.

Nice Holden!

I've had the tires on for a little over a week now, initial impressions are great.

I have 285 width fronts, and with PS4S they liked to grab grooves in the road more, especially when you were making a turn. That's really reduced with the Continental's, they seem like a much smoother tire on my car & easier to drive.
