I am looking at a set of winter wheels and tires on CList but was wondering if the tire size would be an issue. I am looking at 18" wheels, and the tire size TireRack says would fit is 235-50/18, well I found a set that are 225-50/18. I did a tire size comparison and found the difference in size is less than 5%, which I think would be ok but wanted to get some opinions before I buy them tomorrow. Also, does anyone know of a way to update the tire size in the computer so my speedo and odometer are accurate?

Those are probably close enough that you won't run into any problems. If you want to adjust the speedo check out this thread: www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67564
Thanks! I knew I saw something but couldn't find it for the life of me.

This is a good point I didn't think about, but the money I am saving on this set of wheels and tires compared to retail on the set I was looking at is substantial so I'll take the slight hit haha. The set I am looking at is $450 with almost new Blizzaks vs new on Tire Rack at almost $1200.

I went with 225/55R18 for winter on my 18s. A little taller than stock, which gives it a tad more ground clearance.

You'll be fine for a winter setup, plus the narrower the tire the easier you will be able to get it to glide through the snow.
