So I have the basic bitch all season tires. In first and second gear I can’t get good traction when I launch it, and in second it starts to get a little sideways. Kind of afraid one time it’s gonna get a little too sideways. And I’ll be honest this is my first RWD car. I will admit I don’t know how to drive a RWD car properly I guess you could say. I live in south Ohio so for at least 8 months of the year I could probably get away with a summer tire if I wanted to. But is there a good all season sport option? When I had my ST I had cooper RS3-G1’s. Anyone have suggestions?
Conti DWS06 - I have them on right now (note where I live) and they have very surprising amount of grip (I'm used to either summers - Bridgestones S-04 or Michelins P4S or autocross RE-71Rs).
Got a set from Discount Tire using their $100/ off pair rebate on eBay which ended being cheaper than TireRack I usually buy tires from.
I second on learning to drive... Come to Cincy SCCA autocross next year, likely at Trader's World in Monroe...

I’ve heard good things about the DWS when I had my focus st. But went with the coopers instead. Salesman talked me into em, and he was right.

About learning to drive RWD I just want to have confidence in my tires ability to grip. And I want to know what happens when my ass kicks out and learn to correct it and mitigate the sideways action. I need to learn the throttle control sweet spot.

Once my stock P Zero's on the rear were done at 10,000km, I picked up a set of Michelin Pilot AS3 (not the +)

They were grippier that the PZero's ever were, gave me less wheel hop on a bone stock car and held up fairly well (in snow/wet mode) to a couple inches of snow in a freak storm. Tread life has been better too.

For a daily all season driver at stock power levels, I'd rock them again.

I think you'll be happy with the Coopers. RWD and learning the counter steer and throttle control just takes time.

I just replaced the stock summer Pirellis that came on my Ecoboost PP with a set of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ( I keep wanting to say "Michelin Model XGV tires, size 75-R-14").

I chose the Michelins over the Comp2 A/S because they were rated slightly better in most performance categories and the Comp2s were noted as having some tread growl - I hate a noisy tire.

I haven't had much opportunity to lean on them in the corners yet, but they feel more grippy from stoplight to stoplight on a 45 degree day than the P Zero Summers felt at 75.

I only have a few hundred miles on my AS3+'s but I really like the tire for what it is. As long as I get close to 30k miles out of them I'd be thrilled. Great dry grip, comfortable ride, and no noise yet.

I am wondering what the proper PSI is for the tire.

I believe Ford recommends 32 PSI all around.

My door panel says 32 psi all around but, does that apply to all tires?

I always run higher than stock pressure for a touch better mileage and a little less sidewall squirm. I ran 38psi on the Pirelli PZero's, but I'm running 36psi on the Cooper Zeon's. The Coopers ride great on 36, responsive but still much smoother riding than the Zero's.
