Tire cracked

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has come across this before....when I parked my car at work I noticed that my rear tire had a large crack in a section close to the shoulder. Upon inspection there are several other cracks just like it. There are about 18k Kms on them and they are he factory Pirelli's. No burnouts or abuse on these only my 5 minute commute to work.

The weird thing about this is your Pirelli's have nearly 12k miles and still have tread on them.

Mine are almost gone at 7k, and I think I've been pretty gentle on them.

Ya they have a lot of tread left maybe they give us different ones in Canada...

This is impossible according to some members. Last year when I warned Forum members about using Pirelli summer tires in the winter...cracking, I was called a liar and a fool. My Mustang dealer had had a Shelby delivered in mid-winter with cracked tires. And Pirelli warns owners not to drive on their summer tires at temps below 40F. The summer tires have a much more brittle consistency at low temps.

cracks like that occur if its cold and the car has been sitting outside it can still happen.

Also ya check your DOT
