Hi guys, I’m looking to tint my reverse light but don’t want to go with an aftermarket led assembly. I know the most popular method is applying vinyl tint but I’m afraid of it not forming around the edges properly and peeling up. Has anyone used any other methods to tint the lens or do you recommend using the vinyl tint. Any information or advice from your experience would be a big help. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the reply fmc_smt. They look great. Did the tint form around the edges easily enough?

Thanks for the reply Schwerin. I have been looking to see if anyone made plastic snap on covers but I couldn’t find any, do you by chance know who sells them?

Do it yourself - it is quite easy. Just don't be in a hurry when you do it :)

I have no other experience with vinyl than tinting the reflectors and the reverse light.
It was really easy on the primary surface and it just took some time with a heatgun and pulling to get the edges done nice and good.

I cleaned the light with IPA and only used a squeegee with felt and a heatgun. took me 20-30 minutes to do

You can hardly tell it is wrapped - however the FORD markings does reveal that it is wrapped. You need to be within a few inches to see it though - and the 3rd photo which shows it is literally taken 2 inches from the reverse light.

The image quality is not that good - I just took some shots in the garage for you

My car is EU spec which is why the reverse light has a red center for fog light.

Thanks a lot RasJeremy for the info and photos! Yours looks great. What brand did you get (Anchor Room, American Muscle, etc.)? Thanks again for the reply, I really appreciate it!

Unknown china something... I just took the cheapest one I could find on eBay

I just took a "smoked" version so it is still visible but more subtle.

I've attached some pictures where I did it to the side and rear reflectors too.
They are before/after shots

Hi! where are these "snap on covers"? I really like the idea - but no idea where to find them? (mine is a 2020 model) thanks in advance!
