Ok. so ive widdled down to Pilot Super Sports(tw 300), the Continental DW(340) or the S04 (tw280). I would love to have the Toyo R1R but with a treadwear rating of 140 I will pass. i don't want to replace them in 6 months again haha.
The DW are nice because, from what ive read, they are a very balanced tire. However, these tires are exceptional in wet conditions, but mediocre in dry. I live in SoCal. not so much wet here.
This is a great article by Car and Driver. http://www.caranddriver.com/compari...mmer-performance-tires-tested-comparison-test
That test comparison uses the old R-S3 as their new version2 compound came out in 2014:D

Ok. so i have a new question. and stay with me on this one. it might be a noob thing to ask.
Does lower treadwear rating mean more grip? or can a higher treadwear rating have more grip (in the case of PSS and say the Toyo R1R)?
yes and no it depends on the compound of the tire, but depending on the tire to be honest.

the PSS is 300 AA treadwear and they grip like a champ, there are alot of other tires for instance at 200 AA and they dont grip as well as the PSS after some time of them wearing down.

I think I will save up and buy some PSS. I only need rears at the moment. but once I need fronts I am planning on selling the stock 9 inch rims up front and replacing with 10 inch PP rims from AM and putting them on the rear of the car. if that makes sense

I had the Conti Extreme DW's on my Camaro and liked them a lot. I have Nitto Invos on my Mustang and I like them even better.

stop telling me these things because Nitto Invos were what I was looking at originally. I still have a month to make up my mind.

Were you planning on putting the 9.5" rears on the front? Because they won't fit, without a spacer!

Has anyone else had issues with the Bridgestone s04's tram lining? How bad is the road noise later in its life?
I was thinking of going with these due to my driving preference and budget.

Dw's are great tires. Last long time and they are quiet. Only thing I hate about the, is the soft sidewalks and you really feel on the turns.

a/s are great all around tires.

what is tram lining?
DW sound good. I don't want the soft sidewall feel. Then again, PZero aren't the best feeling tire either.

and this is untrue. I know guys with square setups (10) and not one of them needed spacers.

depends on the wheel and x factor
So do the GT PP 9.5s don't fit on the front? Or, the other way around... THe 9s on the back?

I kind of want to square my GTPP wheel/tire setup on my EB for tire rotations.
