where to start !

1. MPSS amazing tires no need to say more, but they ar epricey and at times currently hard to get a hold of.

2. P S-04 fucking amazing ! and price is not that bad

3. R compound tires for street and track, are you going to track the car and or lay alot of power down?

4. Good all season tire, good treadlife and price point is very affordable.

6. not familiar with this one to be honest

7. Good tires but pricey from what I have seen

8. Invo tires have been very popular for the S550 platform and I like Nitto tires

9. Very popular tire and their good !

10. -_-

Thanks! i know the Pzero suck haha. I was most interested in the Contintal extreme contact DW. i hear great things.
btw, how do i read treadware rating? is it the higher the number, the longer the life? or opposite? i like the Nitto NT05. Couldn't find a very good review of them. the Nitto Invo was on car and drivers list of summer tires and they pretty much said that there is much to be desired from this tire. i found their review to be extremely helpful.

Ive owned P-Zeros, Nitto invos, Toyo Proxes 4s, Goodyear F1 eagles (On different cars) and now I have mickey thompson street comps on my new wheels. Ive got to say I am HIGHLY impresed with these tires so far in road noise / ride comfort, high speed cornering / gripping, wet traction handling

Grimace427 has the Continental Extreme Contact DW and he loves them.

yes, the higher the treadwear # the longer the life. 400TW will last a lot longer than a 200TW.

I personally bought the Hankook Ventus R-S3's and have heard nothing but great reviews on them. I also know that I will likely have to replace the rear tires about once every 12 months which will run about $750-800 but I factored that in to my decision:)

i will look into the Mickey Thompson Street comps. Thanks for the suggestion Arsenalslr95. Also, I was looking into the Toyo Proxes R1R but was deterred because I hear they have a low treadwear rating, poor ride quality, and loud sound level. They do however corner and stop really well.

Hankook Ventus R-S3 were high on my list for a reason. I do not want to buy new tires every year though. I have heard its an amazing tire though.
I will likely go with the Continental Extreme DW or the Hankook Ventus R-S3 Todd15Fastback

I have S-04 (#2) on your list, they're very good.

Since you're looking at TW200 tires (Direzzas and Ventus R-S3) why not Potenzaz RE-71s ?

:

2. Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position - great for the 1st 10,000 miles. Then they get loud and tram line very bad. worthles by 15,000 miles

10. Pirelli PZero - soft tire, not a very good life

It will be a good choice but the DW's will wear a lot longer than the R-S3. I only drive my car 6-8k a year and will enjoy the power and handling. Maybe I can go 18 months before changing the rears:D

whenever a wheel has cross cut grooves as it wears down it will cause more noise !

Go with the super sports if you can swing it, they are head and shoulders above the others.

Ok. so ive widdled down to Pilot Super Sports(tw 300), the Continental DW(340) or the S04 (tw280). I would love to have the Toyo R1R but with a treadwear rating of 140 I will pass. i don't want to replace them in 6 months again haha.
The DW are nice because, from what ive read, they are a very balanced tire. However, these tires are exceptional in wet conditions, but mediocre in dry. I live in SoCal. not so much wet here.
This is a great article by Car and Driver. http://www.caranddriver.com/compari...mmer-performance-tires-tested-comparison-test

Ok. so i have a new question. and stay with me on this one. it might be a noob thing to ask.
Does lower treadwear rating mean more grip? or can a higher treadwear rating have more grip (in the case of PSS and say the Toyo R1R)?
