New 5.0 owner here...

I noticed over the weekend when I'm idle between two buildings or near a wall/car, I can hear A LOT of ticking, probably coming from the engine, but close to the center of the car. Is this normal for the 5.0? I don't think it's knocking.

Using 93 Octane since day 1

try and google some videos of the " BBQ igniter noise"
Is that what you are hearing?
So I found this video and this is definitely not the sound

Mine is much faster, consistant with the cylinders firing (coil pack?) and not as loud

as far as i know, the ticking frequency can be quite variable. Is it only there when the engine is cold/warm? Did you change the engine oil?

Mine ticked from day one. Now that I have a Procharger on the car can't hear the ticking any longer.

Here's a recording, this is starting to really bother me but judging by YouTube videos this seems normal for all 5.0s. This recording sounds closer to knocking but I promise you it's not that and it sounds more like plastic clipping a fan, for example. It also is in sync with the exhaust note. The ticking can mostly be heard when near other cars/buildings and it's coming from under the car near the back of the motor I believe

I'll park it between my garage tomorrow and get a much better recording. It's very loud when the car is surrounded

Exhaust leak maybe? I'd look for carbon buildup around the connection points of the exhaust. Might not be too obvious now since you have such low miles.

The ticking will get louder with long tube headers. It is annoying. This noise is normal.
