Ticking = Solenoid?

For those of you that have the ticking noise (tinny sound) on light rev (not at idle) my mechanic seems to think it is the throttle body solenoid kicking on and off??? Thoughts?

I've heard both and they are totally different sounds. Throttle body click on mine is more predictable and timed, my bbq tick after oil changes can be erratic depending on throttle input. One is a tick, and one is a click.
